still trying to wrap my head around rendering/specularity.

been practicing a lot, but It's a bit frustrating.

any criticism would be helpful

Do lots of still life studies, go to a thrift store and get those vintage metal cutlery and crockery stuff with lots of patterns, really get an understanding of how light reflects and casts a shadow on the metal (for this particular subject)
Your stuff is okay, with some refining you'd be getting close to blizzard-tier (which shouldn't be your goal.) but I'm not seeing reflective light.

If you're looking for a book Scott Robertson's How to Render: the fundamentals of light, shadow and reflectivity is a good source.
