So what's the level I should aspire IF I want to live off my art? I don't mean to be ultra-super-mega-good but something along the lines of "meh, you pass now go make minimum wage"?
I just want to make like 1000$ monthly with my art, as an illustrator or a concept artist, working from home.

Art is super competative. I don't think you'll even make minimum wage if you're just trying to make minimum wage (because someone better will take your job because that person is going to want it more, be better and he'll probably be more motivated).
It would be like asking an athlete how fast you should be able to run (minimally) in 1 hour to get top 3 in a marathon or whatever.
So my advice is to get rid of that mentality, but if you're really interested in that answer try to think of how many paintings you'd want to produce in a month, lets say 8 wich means $125 a painting and then google 125$ paintings.

It isn't just about being good. Even exceptionally good people have to do shit jobs until they get their CV together. Even so-so artists can get high paying jobs if they're good at maintaining contacts with a solid CV.

I was surprised to find out a 30% gallery commission is regarded as fairly low.
To get traditional rep you need to be in exhibitions, and then you then need to be good enough that you can get your money and time back on a sale.

There isn't. If there was even half as easy as you think it is, everyone would be doing it. We had a whole thread full of people who TRIED to do it, they made a group on Deviantart to promote nothing but the most pandering, Kronprinz inspired animu fanart and they all failed laughably, getting maybe 10 views per image.
When it comes to webcomics, the only ones who make lots of money, yet are drawn very badly are either gag comics or slice of life webcomics that have run for years before Patreon was even a thing. To think you could just draw some shitty webcomic no one has ever heard of and suddenly people will throw money at you, you must be genuinely retarded.
