Let's diversify /ic a bit and share some of our creations that are NOT paintings/drawings.
Jewelry, sculpture, metalworking, woodworking, glassworking, ice carving, masonry, polymer clay, etc — you name is.
Anything goes — as long as it's an object you've made and it's at least somewhat artistic.
>>2340283
/diy is for the technical and technological part of it, yes.
/ic seems more fit for sharing final pieces.
Well, not unless /ic is now officially "drawfags only".
would like to see more sculptures here, too
>>2340276
Welp, let's get this party started.
Small glass miniature I've made in the end of December.
>>2340477
Another one.
>>2340283
Fuck off.
It's like saying that /po/ should only be about origami.
>>2340478
Why is it covered with a condom?
>>2340276
If you're talking about fandom-related crafts or jewellery and accessories, go to cgl.
There's this huge bonus that they aren't raging sexist assholes over there.
>>2340495
They are selling collection condoms like that already. I mean like condom art or art made of condoms.
It's pretty disgusting.
>>2340500
people already make blown glass condoms?
>>2340488
The reason is quite obvious — I cover them for PROTECTION.
After all that's, you know, what condoms are for.
>>2340543
Thread made me look, and I hate looking at what other people are doing. Didn't find anything like that. Did learn that condom molds are borosilicate, which makes the idea art smart. I'd run with it myself, but I've got too many projects going on. Saw a couple lame things, too. Nothing interesting as the idea of delicate female genital symbol-flowers encased in phallic glass condom sheathes. It would be some kind of metaphorical inversion. Beautiful idea.
>>2340501
not made of glass, but rubber
>>2340478
another one
>>2340478
I love it.
>>2340478
These are really neat, anon. How big are they?
>>2343582
Round one is about golf ball in size.
The other one is about 2 inches high.
>>2343815
Also, some older stuff.
This one actually floats due to large bubble.
wait how do you blow glass i thought that was only done by artisans in italy and autistans in china
>>2344582
You get a blowtorch, gas and glass rods and go nuts.
There's a guy on twitch streaming his glassblowing in the creative section, though he's not on right now.
>>2340484
Back to /po/
>>2340484
I would really like a /po/ only about origami. But then that shit would be even deader.
I really need to figure out how to improve my CP paintings. Last crib hit me hard and has me wanting to repaint canvases.
>>2343824
wow thats really beautiful
>>2340478
Is that glass or ceramic inside?
>>2346384
Glass. COE's need to match.

You want tutorials on lampworking?
Well, that's simple, really:
1) Find your local lampworking workshop/artist
2) Take a beginners level class that includes SAFETY section and basic equipment handling
Really simple to make. My cat loves them.
>>2350606
Ooh. I want to throw those across the room and watch the cat chase them.
>>2350610
No, see you smack them gently on the nose with it, then they try to catch it, and you try to ' attack it' back with the heart pin.
>>2350669
This.
This is what is going on.
>>2350638
My cat likes to chase things. I think they would be good cat darts. I'd tape a cotton ball tip at the other end, and throw them all over the room.
>>2343824
Bump. Some even older stuff.
>>2340276
>>2351026
I make wire sculptures when I'm bored or watching TV and not drawing. They not masterworks lol
>>2351109
>>2340276
>>2351026
Tree I made and ghetto stuck it to a rock.
>>2340276
Anybody make any shit with clay or wax or make soap? I've been thinking of doing that too but the wire stuff is so cheap as it is.
>>2350682
Cat could care less lol
>>2343824
Damn. I know some koi pond owners would buy big versions of that
>>2351114
I think if you had a thin enough gauge wire & bought cheap stones you could probably make your tree have "leaves" or other sorts of embellishments on any of your other stuff. Unless you wanna leave things as is, of course. Could also opt for stones pre-drilled if wire wrapping smaller things is too much of a hassle.
Also there's usually a bunch of coloured wire in the jewelry section of craft stores to help out in that regard too. You could go all out with colours whilst keeping your project completely wire.
>>2351575
This is true. If I did that to a tree I would remake it. I learned a lot about how to keep the wire structures more stable. That tree is a like a semi flaccid dick in terms of wigglyness.
I was using 3 different gauges of wire but I found I can order large quantities online for cheap so I may look into it more and add gem stones or beads as you mentioned.
>>2351131
I make shit with clay. You should do it. It's pretty neat.
>>2351592
Where do you get it and how do you cure it? It needs to be fired right?
>>2351601
I usually buy prepared moist clay from ceramics supply manufacturers or 50# bags of raw chemicals to formulate my own bodies, but I know how to prospect, mine and process clay from the wild. Use the google.
Natural clay needs to be air-dried then fired in a kiln to be permanent. They can be built, bought or rented. Once again, use the google.
If you have trouble, ask me more questions and I will share my google-fu.
>>2351669
Fair enough. Doesn't sound too difficult
>>2351592
>You should do it
how does one start making shit with clay?
>>2351583
Fair point. I found 100 ft of 16 gauge aluminum for 10 USD on Amazon, which a portion of that is about the same price in a local store.
One option if you get elaborate and/or work smaller, you could move up to actual precious metal wire & sell that shit in the future. You can do it anon
>>2352167
I want to move to copper wire first when I get better and stain it or plate it or something and then move to precious metals if I actually get good
>>2355943
>this senpai
>gr8 idea, flowers in jimmies
>do it
Less talking, more doing?
I mean, come on, you MOST DEFINITELY have access to both condoms and flowers — just do it.
Felted pig and squirrel
Made this in a ceramics workshop a few months ago.
>>2357050
Is that a prehistoric sex toy?
>>2357050
i swear, i tough this was a chocolate covered candy
windchime made from turkey feathers, some other bird's bones, and raccoon skull all stuff i found in the woods, makes a really eerie rattling sound
Some newer stuff from earlier this month.
>>2357394
HOW
>>2357424
>HOW
Please specify the question, lol.
>>2357428
How do you do what you do
>>2357445
Heat raw glass (rods) on glassworking torch, shape said glass into desired forms, weld resulting forms together as needed.
That's the process in a nutshell.
>>2340276
I customize Blythe dolls by sanding, carving and re-painting them. Idk if it counts as a craft
>>2357601
>I customize Blythe dolls by sanding, carving and re-painting them. Idk if it counts as a craft
Sounds like a craft. Care to show the result?
>>2356104
Just finished this tonight
>>2358489
This is really cool, I've always wanted to learn how to felt. Nice work, anon.
>>2358573
thanks, it's surprisingly easy to pick up and it's definitely one of the cheaper crafts to do. This is probably like $.75 worth of felt
>>2358489
that seems sellable on etsy. do you sell your work? it seems like it could be very popular
>>2358844
not yet, I will soon. I gotta figure out etsy
I've made a few plushes. Pic related is Super Greed from The Binding of Isaac. Stuck some pennies and nickels inside him so he jingles if you shake him. I've made a set of one's for my and my friend's OCs and I have a half-finished one of Lammy from UmJammer Lammy sitting on the table.
I am a hack though because I mostly use official art and shit as a stencil.
Bump.
Some older ocean-themed stuff.
>>2362323
Combined.
Some older floral pendants
I've been meaning to pick up knitting again. Can anyone give me suggestions on nice knitting needles and yarn for scarves and knit caps? Is lamb's wool the standard?
