So what is a good ideal ratio to have of fan art vs original stuff in an online gallery?
>>2335863
0 fan art, unless you want to be worshipped by people who doesn't matter :^)

It depends on the purpose of your portfolio - are you looking for a real job, or are you looking for fans to fuel up your patreon?

What if I am porn artist?

98% fan art
2% oc

I can't wait.
Duckman porn.
However much makes you happy. If we were talking pure pragmatics, a high ratio of fanart will get more traffic, though in my experience you can get a huge volume of notes on tumblr from fanart and it won't really affect your follower count too radically unless you're basically theming yourself to a fanbase.
Some people seem to feel ashamed and dirty the second they draw fanart of a thing they like, fuck knows why. It's like they think the studies they do of photographs or models that 20 other people in the same room drew are more original or something. Anybody who complains "but you're doing something already done before!" needs to reflect a little on originality and get a reality check, because most the art that does something 100% different is shit. Originality for originality's sake is retarded.

depends on what you want to do.
If you're aiming for concept art, doing just straight cookie cutter fan art won't cut it. If you really want to do fan art, then do your own design/ twist on it.
If you're looking to get pleb shekels on Patreon, just do fan art and porn, nothing else.
If you're a pro, discard everything I just said, people will lap up your shit anyway.

If ur top artist, you don't need online gallery :^)

A good ratio is 100% of what you want to do, and as high as you can post percentage of what you do for pay.
If you're strictly going for a "gallery" then post only your best.
Studies, doodles, other miscellaneous practice bits, fan art and process gifs/videos are all great blog fodder.
If you're in it for pats on the ass and little stars/hearts then post only fanart, shred your dignity and draw shit you don't give a fuck about and sell yourself the fuck out. Instant gratification and thoughtless approval isn't as satisfying as you'd hope, unless you're 15 and being Tumblr famous is your goal.

Wait. I wanna be pro as porn artiat bau and storyteller and make some games on rempy.
So I wanna do porn from furry to guro (not loli), I wanna do my fantasy comic (not porn) as printed book and sell it.
So is fan art wrong?
I think my plan Is 50% fanart(nsfw), 30% my works (nsfw), 10% fanart and my work (swf),
5% art pic, 5% art ore something out may c. zone.
Oh, yeah i wannt/need patreon but I wanna do my own stuff.
