So! ic

wich ones are better when you are studying?

long extremely accurate studies?
or quick paintings but not with the full detail?

Both, now get back to studying.

Generally speaking, quantity over quality (length), it depends on what you're trying to learn though. Are you trying to learn construction? Do a fuckload of line drawings. Are you trying to learn how to render small details? Then you'll need to do a longer study to learn how to integrate the details into the whole image. etc. etc.

Make a schedule. Do both.

Both are usually necessary. Though you will lean towards one or the other based on your interests/goals/career. An animator has little need for long extremely accurate paintings, and an illustrator or fine artist probably will do more longer pieces (though likely not exclusively unless they are a photorealist or something).
