I've won several over the years and I still am depressed. Recognition is pretty meaningless.

I've won the
Mom & Dad tell friends and relatives I'm still 'finding myself' instead of telling them I dropped out of uni to become an artist - award.

I won a few through school/college. Nothing worthwhile.

You'll eventually win the "mom and dad think you're talented and brag about you to coworkers" award. But you need to actually be decent and also making money off it before that happens.
I won 2 awards my senior year of high school
that was pretty cool

Nah, it was a separate event.
I won a bronze demon from one of the big painting contest held by Games Workshop
Got pretty luckt, I guess it has been the peak of my success in miniature painting, it's 2 years since I've done anything in that field though.
Got a silver prize too for self-sculpted miniature in a national event.
