too much coreshadow / 10

This.
And the reflected light is too strong.
Pic related, how it should look like.
>>2315451
I don't blame him/her. Core shadows are fucking great.

There is a lot of truth in this, keks aside. At my atelier one of my instructors talked about how the typical rookie mistake of not separating light and shadow enough (making the ambient light too bright) often results in a chrome look. However, there are legit guys like Vilppu that teaches emphasizing the core shadow as a quick sketch method.
Those ink drawing are beautiful, desu.

Too much autism / 10
>>2315541
>putting in correct values is autism
Post your art, faggot.
>>2315506
Hell no. It's a good drawing but not very well rendered. This is not how skin works.
How many hours have you put into learning and absorbing anatomy, gestures, and figurative information? I'm probably at 1000.

post your work

Here's a sketch I've already posted, I know the forearm is fucked.

Stop drawing contour lines.
>>2315599
nice troll
>>2315606
When you're doing a sketch you're mainly focusing on an idea of what a figure is doing. This is not achieved by simply copying contours of the figure you will not learn a thing until you understand its form by breaking it down first and then create contour.
Stop copying contour lines.
>>2315620
That wasn't me, but thanks, I only had like 10 minutes with that pose so didn't have much time for modelling and tone, I used to use a lot of construction lines when building up a figure but I just do that in my mind now, I don't get any real benefit from using them anymore.
>>2315599
Stop giving worthless advice. The gestures are clearly captured in those sketches and you can see the lines he used to feel the form. Give the autism a rest. Does KJG trigger you too?
>>2315620
He is clearly not mindlessly copying. The lines that of the back leg shows that he is interpreting and simplifying the shapes with some understanding. Look at life drawings from disney artist. They all use contour lines, yet they aren't copying the silhouette.
>>2315598
See above. Keep simplying shapes. The legs appear to be drawn with more clarity and confidence than the upper body. Head looks pretty good. All just seems a bit out of proportion. Some lines seem excessively messy for a ten minute sketch.
>>2315641
Here's a life drawing from Jaime Jones, apart from a little more shading isn't he using contour lines in much the same way?
>>2315641
Post your one minute gestures
>>2315649
he probably does the construction in his head because he's been drawing for a very long. you have to draw 3 dimensional forms that go into each other. imagine the whole thing.
>>2315599
lol
>>2315725
Some of us went through the whole Loomis/Bridgeman/Vilppu phase years ago m8, after a couple years you're at the point you don't need to literally put construction lines down in such a way.
>>2315566
You're a dumb human being.
