>when you stopped drawing months ago but still tell all your family and friends you are really into it
Damn is there a worse feel than quitting a hobby you you were extremely passionate about for 1 month and having to tell everyone you love you gave up on another thing?
>for 1 month
Just tell them you fucking stopped.

Just don't give up
Get back into it
>>2314817
extreme passion lasts longer than a month kiddo.
iktf
I can't even imagine going a day without drawing and I've been drawing for 3 years.

This is why I don't tell anyone. No one knows that I draw. Whenever I reach maximum hermit levels, they think I'm just playing video games. I'm actually drawing.
I stopped for 2 years and pretend I still do, get on my level

Ive been drawing all my life
and I tell people im really into art
but in recent years I have greatly stagnated due to lack of determination to do anything more than doodling
>>2314910
Same here. I even hide all my sketchbooks and loose bits of paper when people come over to my house. Why do we do this?
>>2315275
>Ive been drawing all my life
biggest red flag here
why do I hear people say this all the time
>>2315344
>why do I hear people say this all the time
Probably because they've been drawing all their life?
Pretty much all toddlers draw. The people you hear about starting to draw in their 20s or 30s weren't drawing in their childhood and young adult years. They drew for a very brief period of their life, stopped for a long time, then picked it up again. Everyone else never stopped past the toddler stage.

It'll probably not be the first thing you quit so see telling them as practice for future similarities.
>>2314817
Tell them you're a faggot, it will lessen the blow of having sucked at another thing, faggot.
it's always the people who tell everyone about what they are going to do that drop out. you can always tell when someone is doing it for the wrong reasons + they won't last
>>2314817
Why did you quit?
Also, if you don't enjoy it, it's perfectly reasonable to tell everyone that you stopped enjoying it and that you're pursuing new interests instead.
It's been more than a year since I've painted anything and now I struggle to even mix up an effective palette. Atrophy is real and its demoralizing.
>>2314817
>passionate about for 1 month
lol
>>2317753
do you post your stuff online?
I know a similar feel. I haven't really drawn seriously in a year after doing it for 5 straight. Mostly because I'm focusing on writing my story which after I'm done I'll start drawing. But family always asks what my neet ass is up to or how my art is going and always gotta say something that's a half truth. Idk.
I fear for the day where I start drawing again and realize how terrible I am. Might have to do a week (or more) crash course.
>>2314817
>gave up drawing after 1 month
>"extremely passionate"
That's um, not how it works
>>2317762
unrelated but that jaw line is so weird looking.
Is this even a feels thread
>I flip the canvas
>it looks better
>mfw
>>2314817
Nope. Twelve years and going strong. Suck me.
