Akira
Ghost in the Shell

All Studio Ghibli films

>Redline
One of the best animated films I have ever watched in my whole life.
the evangelion rebuild movies are pretty great and if you dig trough them the story isn't half bad and is full of easter eggs

Pretty much listed everything I had in mind.
If you're interested in series as well I digged the animation in ping pong the animation

I love Space Dandy.

summer wars is good visually
boy is it a stupid movie though

Agreed. The animation and designs in it are absolutely top notch. Worth watching even if the movie itself isn't as strong as Akira, which is hard to match in any case.

It's a strange one, but look up Dead Leaves
All the short films in Genius Part Beyond are good. My favourite one is Wanwa the Puppy by Shinya Ohira.

Fantasia is still one of my favorites.
Little Nemo is amazing. Japanese as well. IDK who makes it.
The Last Unicorn.
The Secret of NIMH.
Not a film but the anime series Nichijou has some amazing action scenes
Little Witch Academia 1/2
I would recommend the films of Ralph Bakshi, for your education. They may be ancient as hell, but he made.much with the little he had. Drawing on photocopies, rotoscoping, stone knives and bears bearskins stuff, but visionary for its time. Wizards is one of my favorites, and his attempt at Lord of the Rings was wonderous. Think of their art direction, their stylization of forms, the background art. Yes many have made better since, but the ground he forged was new then.

Mah niggeriest nigger
But if you haven't seen all of Satoshi Kon's stuff, I'd totally recommend all it. His stuff is amazing at every level, in my honest opinion

Everybody here better be ready to rewatch Tokyo Godfathers this Christmas

Also, Sylvain Chomet has made some nice films. L'illusionniste and Tripplettes of Belleville were pretty interesting, especially considering they had no dialogue in them
>>2312777
Damn that's some fine draftsmanship in that image
>>2312780
Yeah, Chomet's film are really well drawn and animated. Probably helps that he's a pretty good artist/animator himself. And apparently he made the music for L'illusionniste too.
Goals right there.
mind game, cobbler and the thief, ghost in the shell, a scanner darkly (rotoscoped)
