~400 hours on 70 page comic book
~50 hours max on a single image
~26 hours out of a 28 hour day is the longest 'single session', took a couple breaks to eat, pee, stretch. you know, deadlines..

without a deadline, 4 hours is usually the longest I go without a break. actually, most days i don't do art at all.
>>
maybe 20 minutes

Do you mean 24x14 + (24x.3.5) = total time it took you in hours?
>>
>>2308130
I think I worked 12 hours a day, for 17 days. 12 x 17 = 204 hours

>28 hour day
what is this sorcery
>>
>>2308040

Wow. Are you some Eurotrash? I can literally not think of another country with 28 hour days.
>>
>>2308169
I mean I was up for about 28 hours, extending my 'day' a little. Not really pertinent information now that I think about it.

>>2308173 You seriously think there's a possibility of a country using a non-24 hour day in 2015?
>>
>>2308139
I think you're problem is trying to do something complex when you don't have the grasp of the basics, thats why it took so long and it looks like ass.
>>
>>2307665
over 20 hours, but that included doing exploration sketches etc. final lineart took about 3- 4 hours.

Right now, I've been working on a piece for 2 weeks and a half like 3.5 hours a day so 50-60 hours, and still more to go.

Mirroring does nothing anymore, what fascinated me a week ago I just overlook now, kill me

hide your butthurt, id gladly spend the rest of my life with chunbum discussing his theories about art rather than with wu discussing how oppresive and sexist my existence is.
>>
>>2307665
Six fucking weeks, every day at least five hours to design and paint a cover for a book. obviously, it was all for free
and meedless to say, the result was absolutely disgusting
>>
I can't bring myself to commit to a drawing longer than 8 hours or so. Usually after about 4 hours I start questioning the subject matter or the value of spending more time on a single drawing and move on.
>>
>>2307665
Probably in the 25 hour range for a single painting. I don't keep track of that stuff though so just a guess.

Does anyone else feel though that our lack of patience may be holding us back? Like you read of old masters sinking months into their masterpieces. Some spent years on single images. In the end no one really cares how much they struggled or repainted and reworked, it's just the end result that matters. Shouldn't we be dedicating more time and effort on each piece? Especially if it is personal work and there is no deadline.
