If i remember correctly, calling him "feels man" or "feelings man" became a meme in itself after someone posted a facebook (or at least I'm pretty sure it was facebook) status made by a teenage girl in which she brags about knowing all the latest memes thanks to 9gag, citing her knowledge of "the newest meme ever, feelings man" from the website along with a picture of said meme.
I think I first saw that post in 2012 but I'm not 100% sure.
