You have these simple ideas, and instead of complicating them, you just throw them at us. They are self explanatory and clear, social critique and satire. I appreciate stuff like that. It takes balls and dedication. I still think you are unpolished. The way you paint doesn't correspond with your straight forward messages. I would like to see more confidence. And I think you should take your messages one step further, really blast an explosion in the audiences face. Be vulgar and cynical. If that's what you wanna do.

As for my opinion most of it is lazy shit. But some of them are okay I guess. Do more studies and focus less on trying to make a "point" until you actually know how to use those paints.

they're original ideas based on existing concepts. there's a huge amount of satisfaction associated with doing original work. I like writing original concepts I don't like just painting space marines.
Even if these seem simple it takes a lot of effort to write 17 original concepts. Some are more complicated than others. I'd say the one's you pointed out are some of the simpler ones but were no less satisfying to make.
Also I'd argue that constellation one is pretty complicated. A constellation of a salt shaker spilled over that has the stars as the salt, and it meaning bad luck so a meteor is about to hit the planet. That's way more complicated than say the fencing one.

just enjoy the paintings. theres nothing wrong with getting the joke. These aren't some grand statement. They are just meant to be amusing and maybe look pretty. These are practice for bigger projects in the future and more complicated stuff that is actually "deep". For now though it's just a bloody stool because I find poop jokes funny.
i do wish more artists made stuff like this though. some people are so scared of getting ideas stolen they never write anything

theser are so basic, uninspired and boring. maybe you can paint and draw a little, but that is not worth anything if your ideas are horrible. maybe your mom or your class like them, but they don't know any better...
btw, you can really see the quality of your oaintings dropping and rising by how close you sticked to the original / the reference. the camel and the stool are pretty nice, but that's because they were replicated. maybe continue doing that and get better. then think about your ideas again.

the stool and water bottle i painted from life. the hanging people, the skeleton key one, and the fishing one are done from imagination. and i disagree i think some of these are complicated concepts, and complicated paintings. most of them are simple and meant to be understood quickly but that's not a negative. A simple idea is infinitely better and more difficult than no idea at all, and it gives context to understand the joke structure for more complicated ones, especially more complicated ones I do in the future. I need to be able to write simple jokes in order to make more complicated ones.

I dipped into that a bit with this one with two pieces about racism, and a few about death, but I'd like to have a whole collection of more mature pieces.
I live with my parents and they don't necessarily like seeing me making stuff that's vulgar or personal but I feel like I'm moving more and more in that direction.
