Your drawing is very good. However, I think you would achieve a better effect if you changed the face of Death. The one in your drawing is great, but is too childish: it resembles the cover of a Metal Band album. Maybe try something like pic related.
Or maybe use a simple and clean skeleton face, maybe even without the clothes, just a simple reminder of Death. The great big eyes in your drawing kind of humanize the entity, but Death should be something much more powerful and otherworldly.

Bad use of color. None of those colors are complimentary. The contrast between red and green is too harsh. Plus if you are doing a pollock he makes use of negative space. It's not about filling the canvas with lines of paint but rather documenting his movements.

>>
>>2283026
I don't detect any errors with perhaps the exception of the way the nose is lined up.
>>
>>2283026
The collar bone is too far to (your) right and doesn't line up, the neck is too thin, and her face is too far up on her head. The nose looks wrong. Noses are the hardest part for me to draw. Her hair looks too stylized compared to the rest of the drawing and looks out of place, but that's just an opinion
The body looks fantastic though. Keep it up
>>
File: human_proportions.jpg (71 KB, 640x800) Image search: [Google]
human_proportions.jpg
71 KB, 640x800
>>2283026
I've seen a few people tell you the proportions are correct here but they aren't. The head is too small and too high up the neck. The breasts are too high and don't connect to the shoulders as they should. The ribcage and upper arm area are all too short, the upper arms should definitely not be shorter than the forearms. The waist is just drawn incorrectly, with there being too much space between the bottom of the ribcage and top of the pelvis, and that division being too high up the body, and the legs are too big, not in thickness but overall, as if they're not in the same scale as the rest of her body. Other than that, there are structural issues in the head and hands; alignment when it comes to the head, stubby and misplaced fingers when it comes to the hands. I'd suggest looking up more proportions guides like this one to start giving yourself checkpoints for placing anatomy.

please let me know what you think. dont scream loomis at me, im reading him. referring me to a part in loomis you think i should pay particular attention to would be helpful.
>>
>>2284762
I think this is a job for mileage. This is good, I can see you're coming to understand drawing form vs "symbols" as they say. Just keep practicing with construction, drawing through the figure, gesture drawing, and taking gestures to finished drawings. Where you are now, I would say the best thing for you is to pump out things, not get too caught up on or attached to each individual drawing you do, because trust me, even 2 years from now there will be nothing you've drawn during this time that you'll cherish all that much. You may come up with good ideas but by that time you'll likely just want to redraw them and improve the overall execution. So study and practice, but try to be okay with letting go and moving on to new things.
>>
>>2284781
thanks i really appreciate the advice, ill keep at it
>>
>>2284791
You're welcome. Actually there is ONE thing I feel would make this better, and that's if the downward arm could have the hand coming towards the viewer. Right now it sort of looks pressed into her stomach or side or something, and I just think if it looked like it was pointing outward, sort of like the leg below it is, that would be a stronger gesture. Other than that like I said, finish it up and do more stuff!
>>
>>2284800
yea i agree about that arm ill fix that

Posting my own here. Can you tell I'm a fan of Pollock? I don't go around saying my art is the best in the world. Just paint how I feel, and I paint the hallucinations I see. I would appreciate it if you told me what you felt when you looked at it, anything along those lines, your thought process.

Digging it, some high chroma flat expressive work. Don't apologize for your shit as >>2285902 just fucking vomit at your canvas and post your work. It's expression, we can't tell you how to do that. That being said that work is all over the wheel and chaotic, try limiting your palette as >>2285902 did for emotional impact.

High chroma reds against a neutral palette creates contrast and pattern and there's an overall sense of composition. It's still expressive, but its not technicolor vomit.

Also what's the deal with the segments, how's this going to be arrangrd?

I don't have the money for one big piece of canvas, let alone paint. I try to use at most 3 different colors and small variations in their shades. I ran out of paint, and I ran out of canvas.

My parents just filed for bankruptcy, were moving into a one bedroom apartment in a higher crime area of NY, by the Hudson in Yonkers I think, family of five not including me. I really want to paint, its all I've wanted to do, but I don't have the:
>money
>space
>resources
>support
There are to be six paintings, this is the first, but no monies, so looking for a way to sell. Tried patreon, no one is interested. Tried emailing and calling a local gallery, nothing yet. I might just take a bus to NYC tomorrow, walk my ass with all those paintings to a local gallery. I have no idea what to do to make a living off of this. Tried getting a job, got sacked after a month in construction. Being off my anti-psychotic medication doesn't help.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm in a bad spot right now.
