Typical d/ic/ks. I draw because I want to make cool stuff and because I have images in my head that I want to bring to life. If I can make a living out of it in the future that would be the dream. I'm hoping to become good enough to call myself an artist.

Want to become a master tattoo artist, so currently trying to shake off lethargy and build my skills.
I want to make an income from what I do, but not a main source of income. I just want to be good enough to feel like I draw relatively as well as other professionals in my field.

I'd like to get to that point where people would want $20-30 commissions from me for one figure or simple landscape. Without pandering to furryshit and the likes.
Not as a career, just to improve my skills to the point where they are worth anything above 0, for personal satisfaction and the sense of producing something of value. I don't even dream about becoming a master, though that may change if I ever get decent.
I find drawing quite meditative and very accessible as a hobby. Can chill almost anywhere and just indulge in pencil and paper.
I haven't painted in a while though.

like, people have something they urgently need to share with other people, and they get it out with painting/music/poetry whatever
i have a lot of reasons why i draw but in the deepest and simplest sense i want people to look at what i've made and feel like they know me and like me

i draw because it's one of the few things that makes me feel truly alive, like that childlike sense of wonder isn't dead and gone. the feeling of creating something that surprises even you is extremely gratifying. If i'm not drawing or reading i feel like i'm just wasting my life generally. I would seriously doubt that i'll ever make money off of art but i love it and won't give up until i die.
It's meditative, keeps me doing something useful, I enjoy it, I like telling a narrative, etc.
My end goal is being able to draw anything, from any angle, from memory. I realize this is an impossible goal, but it's one that keeps me striving.

I played piano since I was little but I went to uni abroad and don't have a convinient way to get to a piano and practice so I missed some of that "artistic expression" and I was also battling homesickness and depression cuz my granddad died few months prior. Granddad used to paint for a hobby and we have a few of his paintings at home so I decided that I'll have a go at that and I started drawing. Later I got a tablet and started painting digitally, I'm progressing slow because uni sucks a lot of time but this semester I signed up for a small extracuricular drawing class and I'm having a blast. I want to get better but don't really have any goal of becoming a professional. It takes my mind off of problems in school and I really like to gain skill, it feels awesome to see yourself improve, the same way when I played piano. My grand dad used to say that you don't know what life will bring and every skill you know counts, you might end up selling some paintings, randomly entering a competition with your paintings and winning, playing piano in a bar to get by, every skill can be useful. He told me a story of a guy he knew that every time he went to a pub he would draw someone there on a napkin or a scrap piece of paper and then sneakily got them to notice, since he was pretty good the people were usually impressed, he gave them the drawing and needless to say he never had to pay for his drinks.

Work as a chef and like to stay creative while not working, it's relaxing
im pretty new, only been actively trying to improve my drawing for a couple months, i draw everyday, my hopes is to just get really good at doing digital art and have it as a sort of hobby for a couple years. maybe down the line i could do some work with it though.
It was my niche as a child and I never developed into any other talents or hobbies.

I've been drawing for a year now, just picked up piano a week ago, i can play twinkle twinkle little star and am almost done learning another slightly harder beginner song. I also don't really have any particular goal set, I'll probably pick up another thing when I'm at the point where I can keep up steady development with just maintenance practice and not rigorous learning.

Craftsmanship. I don't git gud to impress anyone or make dosh, I just enjoy the idea of polishing a skill, even if it's mostly useless. Why get good at anything since life is pointless (from a nihilistic perspective)? Just do what makes you happy. That said, I'm a shit artist by my own standards.

That's a pretty solid answer, really sums up my thoughts.
I draw because it is cathartic and enjoyable. Also because it's easier to express feelings and ideas symbolically/visually than verbally. I just want to cause at least one person to look at my art and feel something other than indifference or blind, shallow praise.
To find out What Happens Next.
I wanted a hobby where I could have more measurable improvement.
My hobby used to be videogames, but it's very easy to feel like you wasted your time even if you were having fun. I still play videogames sometimes to unwind, but I wanted a hobby I could invest in and actually feel satisfying progress with. Better still when I have fun even if it can be really annoying sometimes.
I hope some day to maybe do commissions as a secondary source of income, but I never intend to make a career out of it. I think I'd hate doing art professionally. Still, selling some art I've done is on my bucket list, but I want to make it selling art I enjoy doing rather than selling out with furry porn or something.
