Note: you can do it daily, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. INKtober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.

Been getting into studying portraits
I need inking assistance. I was trying to emulate andrewmar. He does this neat trick with the brush pen to give areas little triangles of hard contrast.
I did the initial ink same as always, but when I went back in with the brush pen, I super fucked the drawing. Then the more I retried, the thicker the lines got, until it just turned into mush.
I think the drawing details were not high frequency enough to merit his technique. I shouldn't have drawn toons to try it out...
Anyone have any luck inking like him?

For an OP idea on the Inking general, how about some kind of exercise posted for those on the board, like how the Beginner's thread have one set up at the beginning of each thread. Perhaps a pencil drawing to be inked or something of the like.

Good attempt but the rock edges are too straight and all of them are defined. Notice how some are left out to imagination, and those that are there are made with a combination of straight and wonky.
