You can put images into Google images too search for pictures. Just saying.
do yall consider graffiti art?
Why or why not?
>>2534028
yes sure why not
Yes
A urinal is art in the right context though so it's pretty redundant question. Is it good art, that's a better question.
>>2534028
Yeah, I believe it's art as long as it's not just tagging, like what's in the pic.
Post art blogs/sites for inspiration and knowledge? I'm trying to get into a niche style of tattooing and am trying to develop my look and would love to get some recommendations.
One of my favorites:

Looking for tats with this kind of look. Wouldn't know what to call it exactly.
posting based Michey
Weird tattoo, I like it.
Just got this about a week ago. Think its dope.

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one.

OP you used my drawing. I'm flattered

one of the only few worthy ones in the thread, but the most fitting for a Draw thread header. really enjoy the colors, goes well with blue.

sauce on ref
Is Lin Ran legit? I like his works, but this "process" is fucking retarded. Does anyone actually paint that way?
>>2534696
Yes he's legit. He's been one of the top Chinese painters for a long time now, and he teaches as well.
That pic you posted is a weird process, but he paints other ways as well, pic related.
>>2534696
Finished painting.
>>2534696
Tracing I say.
Jesus Christ, are these prices a joke? Do people actually spend this much money for this stuff? I feel like I don't understand pricing in the slightest.
supply/demand
>>2530557
That doesn't even look inherently bad if that's what you are trying to say.
>>2530561
Don't you need to think about competition alongside supply/demand though? For $100, I could get a full-body colored pictured by a better artist who is probably just as popular.
Fix her proportions /ic/.
>>2535881
But her proportions are fine
>>2535883
stop fat shaming
>>2535884
Haha
How do I not end up like this?
>>2527922
if u think he painted for 6 years everyday ur a meme
>>2527923
even the cat disapprove of that cat art
dont bullshit yourself and it'll be fine
how do you paint, anon? i am using statues to study from with a hard round brush but i cannot into form with default round. i pulled out my watercolors and am painting on canvas but i cant even do a basic face cause im not used to this real shit.
i can line work, lay out my value placements, but when it comes to adding values i freeze, moms spaghetti, etc. what can i do as practice to get my values to not be top kek?
>>2534702
Post your work first so we can see better.
Probably your drawing is not as good as you think. And also are you using the round brush with zero pressure? Set it so the opacity is affected by pressure.
For values, you can assign numbers to the value scale, 1-10 for white to black, for example. I don't personally do that, but it might help at the start and is pretty common to do.
>>2534702
Post your work, otherwise we can just guess why you suck. You can paint anything with the hard/soft brush although creating texture with it is laborious.
A good rule of thumb when rendering form is to be aware at all times if what you're painting belongs in shadow, midtone or light.
Why do artists' handwriting all look like graffiti?
>>2535741
This is just the case for most teachers, easier to write faster like that
>>2535741
Artists are concerned with aesthetics and that reflects itself in their writing i guess. Once had this asian girl in my friend circle who just had the cleanist, consistent, beautiful handwriting
Because they draw letters like compounds of lines and shapes not like symbols.
Sauce? All I can find using reverse image search is all that meme crap.
did some googling and apparently it's the book cover to some german book called "chemie, glaube und kunst - fundamente meines lebens" (chemistry, faith and art - fundaments of my life)
the artwork is often attributed to the artist Adriaen Brouwer but was allegedly done by his friend Joos van Craesbeeck
the name of the piece is "Mann mit offenem Mund" (man with his mouth open)
>>2535696
Thank you very much for your time, Anon. I appreciate it.
>>2535688
crazy good stuff - my first guess was frans hals
how about we expand this thread to genre paintings in general

a little girl made it
so can you
That feel when /ic/ is competing with 5 years old girls.
That feel when /ic/ is losing that competition.
>>2534724
This is adorable. I love reading the butt hurt comments on their Twitter.
>>2534724
Hey guys.
Post tutorials. I will redraw them. desu after doing pic related Im thinking about going to the doctor because I might be retarded.
seems like it
Pretending to be actually drawing. I just traced - dunno if thats helpfull, but its better to not draw at all.
How do I keep my charcoal drawings without getting them all smudged and ruined?
Also, any tips on getting better at using this material?
>>2534283
You can buy a fixative, it comes in a spray can and stops it from smudging. You only do it once the drawing is finished though.
Also stop using a spiral bound sketchbook. For something that can smudge use either loose sheets of paper or a bound sketchbook.
>>2534283
all you need is hair spray, spray a coat onto the drawing in a well ventilated area, this acts as a very cheap fixative. get unperfumed as an entire sketchbook can be very pungent.
as for getting better having only seen that one drawing there are a few things you need to improve.
first is the contrast of shadow to light, its the easiest way to improve quickly is all about learning how light works and effects shape. secondly your proportions are fairly off so a refresher on anatomy could help, charcoal is all...

Does anyone know what artists use to get those nice clean looking whites?
I've tried both white gellyroll gel pens and prismacolor pencil crayons and both haven't gotten even close to that sort of result.
Can anyone point me to some good resources on cross hatching? I wanna start with the basics of just hatching values on spheres and stuff, I don't quite get how to imply the roundness and form that just easily comes from normal shading. I LOVE the look of hatching though.
Some infographics or books would be dope, thanks
>>2534018
All you really gotta do is shade in the direction of the form.
>>2534079
how does rapoza do it?
>>2534018
A piece of paper is a textured surface. When you make a stroke in one direction, only one side of the texture gets covered. Go the other way, two sides. When you scribble or do the dreaded jerky "S" shading it distracts you and the viewer and can ruin the surface you're drawing on. When you fill too much of the surface or shade too hard it ruins the texture and can make dark portions look shiny.
Roundness, can be implied by curving strokes. Hardness or rigidity in fast straight or unnatural strokes....
