Can't draw anything right because I'm burning out.

Rest, go outside, relax a bit.
If you have to draw anyway draw something from your confort zone, doodle a little, draw thinks you like, no matter how they turn out.

Do you exercise at all? Do you go to sleep on time? Do you sleep enough? Do you eat healthy?
Do you do warmup exercises?
Okay guys so im sort of a beginner artist and i have the dream of one day becoming a Riot splash artist. How should i go about doing so? I don't really need the fastest way of getting there per se but rather a guide that i could follow to get me there eventually.
What im looking for are books, video tutorials and the like that could help me on my way there, anything really.
Pic related is the level i wish to reach some day, and if anyone know the artist behind this piece please let me know so i can go follow him.

I hate to break it to you kid but here's the hard truth. It will take you a minimum of 3-5 years to get good enough to paint at that level, even with 6 hours of daily painting and art studying.
By the time you have gotten good enough League of legends might not even be around anymore, it certanly won't be the economical powerhouse it is today.
However, You still want to become a illustrator for video game marketing. That's great, there will always be a cool game or company around for you to work for. Make the job your goal not the company.
Can someone please help me figure something out?
I'm looking for a name of a specific design movement that was popular in the 70's-90's in the fields of technology, architecture, and other things. It's characterized by creamy/dull colors, heavy use of metal, vinyl, rubber, thick lines, simple color schemes, etc. I will post examples of what I'm talking about. I simply love this stuff and even if it doesn't have a name, if someone could point me in the direction of a blog or something that is full of this type of design, I'd love you...

There is literally nothing wrong with going to art schools.

Fixed. Can't believe I missed that typo for that long.

I like Illustrator and all but it's kind of pricy. You guys know of any good drawing programs that are a little more affordable? Not sure if this goes without saying or not but layers are a must.
Krita for raster, inkscape for vector. Both are free
>>2558066
Seconding Krita. It's free and has a bunch of nice shit in it.
>>2558060
Why wouldn't you pirate it? You're not being noble for refraining from doing so, just stupid. I'm seeing in groups like LevelUp! where people proudly state how they are saving up for software like they should get a badge of honour for it or something. It's fucking retarded.
Which one of you is crazy enough to compare Basquiat with Van Gogh?
Care to explain your thounght process?

why compare?

Does anyone own a Wacom Cintiq? I currently use a Wacom Intuos Pro and I'm not sure if I should upgrade. Does a Cintiq improve your workflows compared to graphic tablets without displays?
Your best bet is finding somewhere you can test it out. Minimum would be buy it somewhere with a return policy and try and it out before deciding whether to return it or not.
In general though a cintiq will give you more accurate line art, for painting the advantages of more accuracy is negligible for line art it can make a huge difference.
Keep in mind too using a cintiq will be worse on your back/arm than a tablet, so f your doing art 12 hours a day it may actually be impossible for you to do without killing your back.
I highly recommend the 22" Cintiq + Touch gestures. It's worth it if you are a working professional or if you have the income to support such a large purchase.
It's one of the best upgrades I've ever bought, considering I had been using a Intuos 4 Medium since 2009.
I'm sure the competing alternatives are just fine, if you want to spend less.

i ordered a 22hd today so i can give my first impressions once it arrives.
I have owned a 21ux earlier, the older one, and it was so fun to use. Even though it made my art suffer a bit (i wasnt used to drawing on the screen) but i guess it dissipates over time.
And its mostly for the fun factor that im getting a 22hd, and as far as workflow goes it will slow you down until you get used to it but once you get the hang of it it should atleast make lining stuff quicker.
I'm really trying to find a painting that's probably close to ten years old now of the red queen from alice in wonderland. it was dark, only her head and shoulders. Hair was black, white face paint, her blue eyes were yellow and she looked a frustrated depressed, she was crying. The painting is very similar to this, the artist did a lot of alice in wonderland stuff, I just don't know why I can't find it on DA.
Anyone know which one I'm looking for?
>>2559434
Forgot to mention it looked a lot like these, but I'm not seeing it under Damien Worms galleries anywhere.

looks a lot like michael hussar

YES! Thankyou, it's been a ride finding this but now I have one of my favorite iterations
i dont really know what to work on in my art, so can you guys help me out?
Read the sticky.
Nothing looks wrong to you, Anon? Nothing at all?
>>2558861
This looks rushed, do you have another one or two? (maybe some where you did spend more time on)
It's hard to help you with only picture.
Holy shit. What a bunch on pretentious bullshit! Will people kickstart my dick as long as I color it with nice gradients and talk about how you all will learn to experience dicks in your mouth in a new way?! I'm both gobsmacked and amazed at people.
"Change the way you see your day"
Are people so absorbed in their own ignorance, that they can't experience a moment of joy in their life without some dickface telling them to?
"Give yourself time"
Wait, what? Ah, when I see the clock like that I suddenly feel like...

who knew advertising worked so well?
Can't wait for the iduppps vid.
Noped out after a minute or so. I honestly would have thought this was a parody.
What's the name of the style of this picture?
You guys got any more? I kinda love this style of posters.
>>2555226
it's in the style of 20th century pinup posters, most popular around war time, often found on the walls of sleeping quarters anywhere low ranking military personal were stationed/deployed
>>2555226
40-50s ads and movie posters
Loomis did this kind of stuff.
Thanks anons!
Question.
Are classes worth it? With all the internet open to me, is it really worth spending money on classes.
>>2551392
Depends on the class, the teacher, what you want to learn, what level you are at, and how much work you put into the class. The answer can be anywhere from "yes, it is worth every penny" to "it's a waste of time and money and actually built in bad habits".
>>2551392
Depends on you, nigger.
It's the same as asking "is buying all the premium content of Proko/Anything else worth it?"
Most people here are self taught.
IMO as long as classes aren't shit, worths the sheckels.

Real mature. Please don't shit up my thread with /pol/ and /r9k/ junk.

This looks like someone who knows how to draw is intentionally drawing it bad, sort of like aiming for the look of oingo boingo in jojo.

i have never been able to grasp what drew such a loyal following to this girl. im honestly sort of salted about it. like she managed to draw a decent following, and the fans that she has will stan for her to no end but i can't put my finger on how she got so many fans.
I'm not an artist myself, my younger brother who's about 16 years old is. He has been working with an art teacher for the past couple years doing stuff like sculpture, painting, woodworking. She says she's building his repertoire and developing skills he needs to be an artist. To me it all sounds like bullshit, but I'm not around often and my parents think she's doing great work.
I think he should be working on a tablet (he has one, broke it right after he got it and I just managed to fix it yesterday). I think the physical art is getting him nowhere and that he needs to just start drawing stuff on a tablet. If I was forceful with my parents I'm sure I could convince them to let me take over his art education and either get him a different teacher, get the old working the right stuff, or just teach him myself.
Who's in the right here /ic/? What should I do?
This is something the teacher worked with him on. I suspect she touched it up a least a little. Maybe I'm cynical
>>2556077
your younger brother is 16, he is old enough to make his own reasonable choices
And another one. It looks okay, these are the best though, there's not too many like this.
