How are my proportions /ic/? I'm going to do this picture over and over again until I get it right.
Come on you pr/ic/ks
>>2247473
show the reference and it will be a lot easier to crit
>>2247492
There was no reference, that's why I'm not sure if if looks alright or not. I don't use my imagination often enough.
so I draw a black and white manga panel.
pick related
somehow its feel off...
need critique and advice I guess
It feels off because the perspecitve is too distorted and your figures don't adhere to the chosen perspective. Study perspective. Then composition because this is boring, especially for a comic panel.
>>2249544
And the lighting is plain dumb
>>2249544
The perspective is off
The characters have white aura around them
The characters don't cast shadows so they look like they're floating in the air
Shadowing doesn't make sense, it's all over the place
It looks extremely dull and flat
Hello /ic/, I need suggestions for what to put in the red circle in this painting right here. Any ideas?

Floor of a padded cell (dated semtiotic).
Theater stage.
The internal cosmological monstrosity behind the urges.
a gaping butt hole, but don't paint it, cut a hole in the picture and stick your butt through it
I just need a simple tablet for sketching

Was this man an artistic genius?
>Was this man an autistic genius?
there, fixed it
>was this man autistic?
>but what is objective autism?
What are your honest thoughts on Andy Warhol? He's been dead for awhile but I guess he still exists in some form.
Talentless attentionwhore hack, just like all his peers.
i can't speak anything to his skill, technique, or development. don't know enough for that. but he started an art movement, influenced a lot of future artists, and lots of people liked his art.
i think that's important enough.
>They don't want to create works of art anymore, they want to dress themselves as one
I blame Warhol and his rockstar artist greed for fame
what do you guys think about graffiti art?

Most is bad art.
On occasion it will be good...much like most art.
What are the best sites to see artistic nudes to use as source for art-works?
I want to use pic related as a source for a Venus drawing, however I can’t find a perfect position to the work I intend. I plan in using another model position and then the features of the girl in the epic.
So, any good site for artistic nudes (lots of images, several different bodies)?
Venus drawing, that pic... Well, I guess it could be a selfie.
>>2250106
I will not use that pic, just her. I find her perfect
Hey guys,
Any tips on making a good portfolio? I'm severely lacking in one. I don't mind paying a bit for tools/hosting either.
Even just posting some portfolios you like would help me out!
Step 1: be good at art
Step 2: make a portfolio
>>2249607
By all means, show me your portfolio. I'd like to see where I'm going wrong.
when you mention tools and hosting, i assume you mean more than just the actual art that goes in the portfolio. so i will talk about both.
a good portfolio can be on a website; the website itself should follow the "magazine rule" where the top 50% of the website has all the relevant details - some examples of your art, statement or title of what you do, etc. this is so when people open your page, they immediately see what they need to do, and minimize risk of closing your portfolio prematurely. it should be simple and easy to navigate. also, it should not contain...

Anyone here draw using tablets or touch displays?
I've had a Wacom Cintiq 13HD for a few years now and it works great. I recently upgraded my computer to Windows 10 and now it barely works at all. Even after updating the driver and reinstalling the software, my computer isn't able to pick up both my main screen and the Cintiq at the same time and I'm having a slew of resolution issues with my main screen being scrunched if it's plugged in.
Does anyone else have this problem or know a fix?
I'm using 13HD with Win 10 too, works pretty good overall, but sometimes the it wont regocnise the pen. I just close and open Cintiq again, so it works again.
What computer you have?
My computer was custom built maybe half a year ago using slightly above average parts.
Not exactly sure what type of info you need.
I've seen plenty of people making similar complaints with regards to Windows 10 and Wacom drawing tablets. You might wanna try googling for results there too.
How do I get into looking through the history of art and evaluating some pieces in order to creating an understanding of art to better myself as an artist?
Also, how do I become Dada?
>>2247721
>how do I become Dada?
you fuck some girl without protection and later marry her when you realize she's pregnant
>>2247738
dont get it
>>2247748
he's saying you have to catch syphilis so you can go insane and make some good dada stuff
motivation is unreliable, it's too fleeting. nothing is better than a disciplined system, a solid routine and pattern.
i'm ready to jump into art, what's the most efficient means of practice that will give me a solid understanding of art?
>inb4 read the sticky
i've read it, i know WHAT to do, i just don't know HOW to do it, and i need help
>>2250795
>i know WHAT to do, i just don't know HOW to do it
what's that supposed to mean. if you actually know what to do, then you can just make a plan yourself.
>>2250795
just draw.
>>2250795
Well it sounds like you don't even know what to do yet, at this point I would suggest looking at different styles and find one that suits your tastes, personalize it, and apply it to what you want to do art is wayyyyyy too broad to say you just want a solid understanding. What do you want to do
Whats the best drawing tablet to use for drawing?
Surface Pro 4, Vaio Z Canvas or Cintiq?
>>2246574
Cintiq
>>2246579
Why anon?
>>2246667
Cause it's the most reliable of those; It's designed for drawing too.
Hey, /ic/. Gimme some guidance here. I'm a 20-year-old CS major and I fucking hate it. I'd really rather work in art, and I feel like I'm entering into some self-fulfilling prophecy here by studying CS in case "art doesn't work out". My major is taking up more and more of my time, and I feel like my growth as an artist is stunted because of it. And me putting in the bare minimum towards completing my CS degree probably isn't that great for me either. I'm torn. I see all the blogs and works of artists actually at art school, and they're...

Youll be bouncing back and forth for a while and thats normal. Your motives behind each path need to be pretty clear tho tbh.
My only advice is do one or the other but choose now.
saying
>oh but I have CS as a backup just in case
will just mean you suck at both.
I do cs for a living, and draw art for a hobby. I doubt I'll ever be a professional artist but I'm good enough to be happy with it.
The great thing about CS is that you can find a 9-5 job meaning you have LOTS of free time and LOTS of extra cash thanks to your high paying CS job.
but if you truly want to do art, you'll have to focus a lot more time on it, so just drop...

Thanks, I got that feeling exactly. It's that I find CS particularly hard or anything, it's just I don't get off to the idea of open-source, and I don't spend my Friday nights debugging and jerking off to like, breadth first search. And I feel like I SHOULD if I'm doing CS? But I just feel like I can't just drop out now. I'm 12k in debt currently, so I guess that's not too crippling, but it'd be a major life shift, definitely. I'd almost want to go to art school just...
