Why the huge shoulders/upper body and tiny legs?
It looks stupid.
>>
>>2280143
Well I think he knows it's stupid because he was probably experimenting, hence why it's in his sketchbook.

Looks pretty good.
Too bad he only uses his skills for cartoon pinups.

774 KB,
I'm learning about perspective and have some questions.

Look at the portrait to the left please.

1. Perspective is a way to show depth on plane.
2. As we see depth on this portrait (half-profile) this portrait is constructed within a certain perspective.
3. Perspective can be 1p, 2p, 3p and so on. What is the perspective domain of this portrait? 1p?
4. Can you mark please vanishing point (s)?

What are your favourite digital art tutorials?
Post any and all.

Personally I'm interested in Photoshop tutorials for illustrative, traditional-looking painting. Scratchy inks, some dry strokes, stuff like that.
But I'm open to more. Only thing I'm not really into is the corny sci fi aesthetic with super rendered paintings.

But you can post that shit too if you want

I'm totally willing to pay for tutorials as long as they're relatively inexpensive.

let's hear it please :-)

why not just do it traditionally instead of doing an inferior mimicry

how does /ic/ recommend coming up with a name to post your work under?

Mine is pretty unfortunate, almost sharing the same name as a well known celebrity. i'd never have a chance at being found through google using my real name

it's the last thing stopping me from posting my work online. pic kinda related

Do you have a nickname people call you? Does your name sound similar to any words? Andrew Jones used Android Jones because it fits his name and his interests. Or just use a middle initial or something and use your real name. If you have a foreign or long name you can shorten it or change it a bit. Frazetta was originally spelled Frazzetta but he changed it because it is more memorable with one z.
>>
>>2315592
Memorability mainly, and maybe something that sounds quirky or has something that fits the kind of art you're doing. Zedig obviously fits his work pretty nicely.
>>
>>2315592
Forgot to mention that a lot of pros picked stupid as fuck online handles and still made it big in the industry. Spoogedemon, Prostate Sunrise, Colepoopface, Mr. Delicious etc. They all switched eventually to their real names though.

I'm so scared, I even sabotage the opportunities I do get because I feel like I'm just gonna build myself up for disappointment when it all falls apart anyway.

this is super normal anon. failure is a prerequisite to success. everyone who made blew countless opportunities on their way there.

i've let potentially great opportunities and jobs pass me by never replying to emails. i was so anxious that i waited for so long trying to word it and draft it perfectly, eventually it would have been so late that i chose just not to reply at all. lol.

Gives a beautiful and quiet atmosphere, although it feels sort of captured. 7.5/10
>>
>>2312642
When seen zoomed in, it doesn't look as neat in my opinion. She could have applied the brush strokes in abstract manner to make it look interesting. Right now it looks like a cheap painting. 7.5 is too high, in my opinion.
>>
>>2312642
the color balance is okay but not used well enough. The shapes are lacking in both perspective and proportions. To much symbol drawing (Example: Crushing waves like that is something you see at the beach, not a lake with no wind.)

I guess you could call it impressionistic, even if amateurish. If you like it then hang it in a room because of the colors it adds.

I'm not sure what 1 and 10 would represent so no vote.

What are some good forums from a productive point of view?

I'm not looking for a hugbox nor I agree with the rampant shitposting and unnecessary harshness around here.

Some of you have been extremely helpful and patient with me, so I'm thankful for that but lately I've been feeling like I must seek another place.

At the moment there aren't any. Social media has made forums outdated/obsolete and they have died off and are ghosts of days past.

You're best off trying to find a small circle of artists whose opinions you can trust, and form a group that skypes or does google hangouts together. You need to create your own tiny community since no large public ones exist any more.

Don't go for forums. Forum culture is almost universally shit. Find an artist you like and follow them on social media.

Anyone know what happened to this artist? Disappeared around 10 years ago and most of his work is gone from his original DA account

When people do that it's either:

Their tastes have changed over time and no longer want to draw X thus a new alias
or
ashamed of what they produced because they begin to see with a critical eye
>>
>>2314090
Imo neither of those reasons were good ones for deleting all your work and then your account. i think he should have atleast left the old account up if he wanted to start under a new alias.

Where I can buy a newsprint paper for cheap

Did you try an art store? Depending on the city an 18x24 pad can be anywhere from like a couple dollars to maybe 5 or so. I know some people in the US order bulk online, and some stores let you do that too. In art school I bought a box of like 50 pads or something. Nearly died carrying it a couple km to my house though, did not expect massive amounts of paper to weigh so much and be so bulky, and I didn't have a car.
