How can I achieve this artstyle? What's the name of this art style? Are there any tutorials for this pixelated look?
It's called pixel art OP. Just do what I do and draw the image, downsize, trace over with the pixel tool, then color and shade.
As for the style, I suggest just looking up a bunch of this art and studying the constructions of the body.
You really should've just used google instead of making a thread about it.
>>2317761
try drawing and coloring with the binary tool. but ask yourself if it's the "pixelated" quality that you like or the art style itself.
>>2317761
I think its just a thin brush with no anti aliasing or whatever.
graph thread?
wanna see OC graphs or tags (not fucking toy pieces of shit made by 13 year olds pls)
im on holiday and just did this shitty piece in a couple mins as all i had was a few pens i brought with me and some shitty crayons i found in the hotel giftshop as i had no coloured anything.
sorry its such shit quality, taken on webcam on my laptop

We used a permanent marker on the class whiteboard, now we're fucked
Lol vad roligt!! Men visste du att denna board heter artwork & critique ?? :OOOO
Varför är svenskar så jävla dåliga på engelska? Sen eftersom du verkar vara underårig ska jag ge dig ett tips från vuxenvärlden: ta skolan på allvar och klottra inte på andras skit
Use a whiteboard marker on top of those writings, then wipe them off for quick fix. Also, this thread belongs in the >>>/trash/
Hi /ic/. I am drawing an artwork for an art competition. The thing can't be drawn traditionally. I used a Faber Castell 24 colour pencil set to colour the thing. Now my artwork has very limited colours and the colour scheme kind of sucks like pic related. How cna I fix it?
mixing colors, glazing over another. What do you mean by traditionally?
>>2317380
Oh sorry, that should be digitally
OK, there are many ways to approach this thing, all depends on the aesthetic you want to be presented. First, Keep doing color studies, just see what overlaying colors will do, and also think about the pressure you use to get a different colors. The dragon comes off as very very flat. So, try finding the form of the dragon. (pro tip: don't use pure black or grey for your shadows)
constructive criticism for this tree please. its my first digital painting

How do you guys scan your drawings?
I usually just take a picture from my phone, but it never comes out very well. I tried Staples, but they charged me fifteen dollars for nine drawings and had to keep it overnight. And I don't know if I'm willing to shell out for a decent photo scanner of my own.
What do you use?
>>2316049
>they charged me fifteen dollars for nine drawings
that's absurd
I use the college library scanner
>>2316069
Yeah, it especially sucked because the first time I did it it was five, then this time they said it was ten because they "used the wrong computer" last time. Then I go to pick it up and it's suddenly fifteen.
>>2316049
Go to a library, it's usually like 5 cents or something.
hey guys, tell me what you think of wofl. he's wofl is my oc I'm planning to make a manga of. he's an egomaniacal, charming, handsome, coward, who rules over S.O.O.W. the organization controlling the world from behind the curtains. will post better pic later

Could i get some CC here?
>>2315928
your CC is it's shit, learn to draw before you render, read the sticky, go to the beginner thread. Have a good day.
>>2315928
Cc a shit. Cs6 is way better
I thought OP's pic was a parody of that old anime pic of the rain drenched girl going into a game store with a block of cheese staring at her
I would like to get into painting as a hobby but I had a few questions. Sorry if they are really stupid, too.
Anyways, is it absolutely necessary for someone to learn how to draw well to be half decent at painting? My drawing skills stopped at elementary school because I was told my art was trash so I gave up.
Also, are popular painting tutorials such as Bob Ross's series useful at all for a new artist?
Lastly, is it even worth trying to paint if your art skills have always been piss poor?
>>2315733
>is it absolutely necessary for someone to learn how to draw well to be half decent at painting
Drawing is the fundamental skill on which painting rests.
Find me a painter that's shit at drawing
>pro tip: you can't
If you're a filthy hobbyist, it shouldn't matter though.
Just do what ever.
>>2315733
>is it absolutely necessary for someone to learn how to draw well to be half decent at painting?
yes
>Bob Ross's series
would not recommend
>is it even worth trying to paint if your art skills have always been piss poor?
Probably best to get a grasp of the foundations via drawing first imo
>>2315735
Thanks for being elitist. Really contributes a lot to the conversation.
Anyone know of a book about an Artist?, like a cool one, i tend to idolize characters from books, and copy off interesting and eccentric habits, i think it would help me if it was from this perspective

Bakuman!!
Dali's fake biography
Bluebeard by Kurt Vonnegut
>Round 1 involves a well-known artist selecting 30 entries
>Round 2 involves the general public voting for the 10 best entries online
>Round 3 involves the judges from the organisation choosing the best 5 entries
Should I join this art competition? I'm not much more social than the average /r9k/ user and I think I will struggle with round 2.
>>2315523
What is the competition?
>>2315526
It is an art competition as I said in the subject of this post
>>2315531
>asks the competition if he should join a competition.
>refuses to say what the competition is, as he's afraid for the competition to join the competition.
>>2315185
Try having some panels where the background is white too
>>2315259
i agree with that, i think its very easy to look at and tell what everything is supposed to be. your lines could be more round and fluid, but i think you are off to a good start

So /ic/, I have recently acquired a surface pro tablet and see it as a perfect opportunity to begin drawing again. However I don't know which programs to use. If you could suggest some programs that you personally use or know to be decent, I would appreciate it. In the past I have used photoshop but never very well.
FWIW Manga Studio is freaking amazing on my SP2 for pure drawing, I use PS only for painting.
>>2315106
Use GIMP. They have awesome textured brushes.
>>2315106
Also, Inkscape for vectoring
