What does /ic/ think of Murakami?
>>2325908
I prefer the author to the artist.
>>2325910
And even then he isn't even anywhere near the best author, amirite?
>>2325911
No, he's probably my favorite living author.
Flash Discussion/ Help thread.
So I recently purchased a wacom intuos tablet, and it's my first purchase. I'm using flash and I keep trying to assign F5 to the quick key. Everywhere I search, it says F5 will add a new frame, but I can't get it to work, it just opens up a new window each time I use it. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
I didn't make this thread just for help, I wanted to start a discussion on flash, or alternative animation software, or any tips or just stuff that relates in general.
F5 extends the length of a frame, f6 adds a new frame.
>>2325539
Adobe Flash will not let me modify the key shortcuts, and it's really aggravating. Is this because I'm not using the full version?
>>2325555
are you on a laptop by any chance?
Hello /ic/ I just wanted to ask a more personal question
So I am not a complete novice when it comes to art. I can draw things (However shitty it may be) but it's not horrible to the point where people would think a toddler drew it.
With that in mind. I have no sort of formal knowledge of the arts and I've kinda just been winging it for a long time now.
So my question is where should I start if I want a more concrete foundation and how DO I start rather?
Should I go all the way back to the beginning and grab a piece of paper and learn basic...

Did you do that in the pic?
If not, show us some of your work.
For gestures, Hampton's analytical figure drawoig course would be good
>>2325533
I could only wish that that was my work.
Unfortunately mine is much more lacking and far in need of improvement. Stiff bodies and wonky anatomy.
I want to expand on what I can do, but I feel so directionless. I want to know where to start or how to start, or what it feels like when I have started. I also want to know if the feelings I have of confusion or lack of direction is normal.
>>2325536
Yknow I gave you some advice already
>Hampton's analytical figure drawing
any one know a 3d program like 3D max??

Hello /ic/ so recently my friend and I decided we would do a little Christmas art trade. He asked me to draw his charecter "Willow" who's apparently some sort of a god-like entity created by scientists. Now this premise sounds somewhat reasonable and reminds me a bit of Akira. Though what pissed me off is the design and how disgusting it is. All I need is some ideas to make the design appealing to look at.
Here's a closeup of his face or whatever it's supposed to be.

Fucking cringe
That drawing reminds me of Tsutomu Nihei's Abara or probably BLAME!
Surely there will always be a demand for art teachers? Also, some people say that employers don't really care about your degree.
>>2323681
I have an AA in Fine Art, I've gotten work while I was still in school though and I never had an employer or potential employer ask me about my degree. I'd say a degree is only important if you specifically plan to become an art teacher, but even then some of my art teachers didn't have full on teaching degrees, or if you intend to go into graphic design where it seems like there's a lot of demand for bachelor's degrees. More important than the degree itself is the skills you should learn from...

I think it is useless
A degree in Fine art gives you credibility, and increases the price tags on your work. The credibility will probably make it easier for you to get in contact with gallerists too, you will probably get in contact with some during school as well. The education itself can be really good if you find a school that suits you. You will have artist talks with professors who are active fine artists. I would say it's a really good thing for your development as an artist. Many art schools have free-for-all lectures and seminars, that might be something you want to go to if you want...

The nipple looks a little flat, like it was a drawing on the skin instead of a 3D object.
Don't draw shantae pale.
She needs to be delicious brown.
And please don't draw her with a dick. She is pure.
this board is for artwork and critique. not artwork and praise. No one should be here to get rated, but to improve. compliments dont help you improve, though they do motivate. Pointing out flaws gives you direction to improve.

ITT: Very minor but extremely effective tweaks to your drawing technique that you wish you understood when you first started. Things that should have been obvious but you just realized and slapped yourself for not doing one day.
>Holding the pencil less tightly
My whole life I heard this, but never digested it consciously for years. I was still keeping a death grip on the pencil, which made drawing something new seem twice as hard as it actually was. Just holding the damn pencil looser takes away that illusory difficulty and makes...

To focus my use of value to show form most of all, instead of trying to get a super accurate lightsource.

Don't fap with your drawing hand, it fucks up your freehand lines.

I always sucked at perspective, so I avoided it until I learned how to see things in boxes. Now perspective is easy.
