I bought a set of Prismacolour pencils at the jacked up price my local art shop sells them for (supporting local businesses, ect) but I've been horribly disappointed. I sort of got swept up in the hype that they were a decent pencil but I find the quality shit.
I'm not sure if it's just because I'm not terribly experienced with colour pencil. I'd like to try Derwent's Polychromos or Carandache's Luminance 6901 but I'm worried that it's just my skill level, that buying new pencils won't be any different.
Should I just try...

What exactly do you not like about them OP?
>>
Look up some techniques/tutorials, then try them out properly. If you still don't like them, try the other ones. Either way you'll have improved.
>>
>>2331753
Polychromos are better but you can breed amazing results with prismacolor.

I will never understand why people write such shitty signatures.

I'm trying to get into digital art, and frankly, the keybinds seem a bit over-whelming.

I've both heard and read that the old Razer/Belkin Nostromo was a god-send for both art and productivity, but considering it's long been discontinued, I'm currently looking into other alternatives.

The Razer Tartarus seems like it's very similar in design, but I've heard the included software if fairly intrusive.

There's also the Logitech G13, but I'm concerned about it's overall ergonomics.

tldr; Anyone have any experience...

this is more than enough desu

I use a g13 and it's fine.
It really quickens the work and stuff. I used it in both sai and ps and it was great in both.

G13 user here, nice thing about it it automatically switches profiles when a program is launched like PS or manga studio. Very customizable or too customizable.

The issue with them is that they are not wireless and smaller(or lighter). Memorizing your key function locations can be a bitch, so program a few first and add when needed.

For the sake of sanity, is there a booru-esqe website that holds a bunch of images of weapons, apparel, armor? Cool stuff like that? I always come here and /tg/ for the reference images everyone posts on here but I know there is probably a bad ass database full of images.

If you say google your a cunt and you know it, let the thread die if you know nothing I'm on the search as your reading this.

How do I choose digital colors that look good on print? I mean digital colors have a larger range than CMYK and so its easy to pick colors that will not look good printed and make the print muddy.
27 replies and 4 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
If you are making something for print, working CMYK and use ICC profiles that match your paper when you go to print. You should have a very accurate representation in print as you do on the screen.

Also, even if you do RGB, just do what looks good and convert it before printing. It should alter that much really.
>>
I knew a guy whos job was literally to pick colours that would look good on print.
>>
Comic book colorist here.

1-Buy a good monitor - (IPS technology preferably).
2- Calibrate it - Modern screens nowdays come with over brightness and contrast, and the colors are super saturated.
3- Pick your colors normally, but AVOID the K. Black ink doesnt print well as represented in the monitor. When I color comics, I rarely use the K at all As a rule, I never use more than 30%. You should be fine working on CMY if you know what to do.

4- ????

5- Profit.

Spent about 8 hours on this using water-soluable oil paints on 18x24

Been painting since september and this piece has already been critiqued by my instructor but I haven't had time to work on it with my other classes. The one thing he didn't really critique was my colors, so if you see anything that looks off there please let me know.

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others!

Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one.
