So I'm not much for being any kind of visual artist, so I asked a buddy of mine to draw me a cartoon for an album I'm working on. I have absolutely no idea how I should go about editing it or even attempting to color it. Any suggestions/help?
I like it. You should pay him to color it though.
what does /ic/ think about my first shaded image?
Just go away these threads are just depressing now stop bullying this board

Your ego is your greatest enemy. You should continue posting autistic big eyed symbols on da. Im glad there is a place like this who doesn’t live in a sparklebubble..
What tool would you use to create something pic related? Photoshop or Illustrator? The gradients especially.
>>2342385
Probably illustrator, from what I've seen at my university both graphic and industrial designers use Illustrator.

You are so wrong it's not even funny.

OP here. I'm thankful for any help. What technique do you think is used?
Photographer here,
How do I learn what is good and what is bad on an artistic level? I began photography as a creative outlet and now do it as a profession, I am technically sound and understand what makes a good image be it through technique or composition which I utilize to create work for monetary gain.
However, I never learnt how to look at my own images objectively and critique them objectively on an artistic level..
I am still very passionate about my photography and creating the best images possible for my clients but I do not know how to satisfy...

youre a photographer, not an artist. go on /p/ and leave the people who actually need to work hard and study alone.

fucking edgy
but I do agree that you should go to /p/ instead.
good luck.

Ive taken multiple classes in film photography and digital/photoshop, I know how to set exposure, hand process film, and make prints in the darkroom, I know how to prepare beautiful digital prints, its an integral part of my painting as I work with models and shoot referencs for my real work, hell i probably know more about photography than op, And I love it, but I stand by my statement
So, Sycra recently released a video with what he sees as the fastest way to improve in art.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0ufz75UvHs
iirc he has a background as an art teacher, both online and in real life, and he has interviewed and talked with a very large amount of artist.
Is his "Iterative Drawing" method really the fastest way to improve for people who start late and/or for people who need to be able to explain everything they do in art?
This type of practice is quite common in other disciplines, especially competitive sports/games. I myself used a similar method (but little different in the specifics) to get better at chess.
At any rate, it gets you drawing and it gets you analyzing your drawings, so at the end of the day its going to help one way or the other
Thanks for sharing, Anonymous senpai! Going to watch this while I take a dump.
:)
Yes, draw a head, from imagination, 100 times.
From imagination ;), don't check what a real head looks like, just draw it from imagination 100 times. Ye, that will get you better! I mean.. guys, listen to me, that's the best way to study! LOOK AT WHERE THAT GOT ME GUYS AYY LMAO ;^ ))))))))))

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make stylized work in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.

Any one up to talk about their feelings and listen to others?
yeah. everyone sucks, except me.
HAH! None of you have feelings. Your'e all just a part of my imagination anyway.
Question: Is it harder to become an engineer than an artist? Is studying math and physics harder than learning to draw? My engineer friends study a lot but I think they just read and memorize for the exam which is easier but they don't like what they study as much as I like art so that may make it harder.
Whatever if I don't make it in 10 years I will an hero when my parents kick me out of heir house.
Post your Skypes so we can meet new peeps and do hangouts, etc. :)

>grind fundamentals
>you can do a funny picture by putting a bunch of stickmen together and throwing in a punchline
>said funny picture will be reposted everywhere, forever.
>some bitch on facebook even got popular and published a book made of comics about stickmen in everyday situations.

Ever thought that she would remain mediocre and only capable of drawing stickmen that a third grader can do?

>muh followers
They mean nothing to me, even if those followers where good goys that paid a generous amount of Shekels one thing is for sure she wouldn't be able to buy her way on getting gud that's for sure; being able to convincingly draw a figure is priceless.
Does anybody know where I can download the full versions of Gesture Portraits and Gesture Portraits II by Jeffrey Watts. There's previews but I couldn't find the whole thing, are there torrents for it?
>>2341383
there's not really any jeff watts torrents out there
>>2341383
Yeah, the dude's videos are pretty elusive. Drawing from the Model is on C G, I think, and At the Opera is in some giant traditional painting videos batch, but I think that's about the end of it.
>>2341383
Ever thought about paying for it? Can't? Ever thought about torrenting a job?
How to make the moolah?
Also, does anyone on patreon even make more than Sakimichan?

When somone commision you for a "sketch" like porn, fan art, etc. You have one price. This price differs when the "sketch" It's a Character design sketch?
Sorry if you don't understand the question. My english sucks
>>2338289
>How to make the moolah?
Know your niche and fill it. In the case of something like porn, draw porn that will actually get people off. When you're an erotic artist you're basically a whore, people are paying you to get them off. If you can't do that then you aren't gonna make shit for cash.
For none erotic art, you actually have to be good at drawing, or at least make your drawings look good enough that your average punter can't tell it's really...

Loomis.

Seconded, hail Loomis

Im curious as to how other artists contruct their heads and faces. Do you use the loomis method? Or do you use your own self taught method? Post a quick sketch of how you construct the head and face and compare it to others
If you think that op pic will get you an honest reply you'd be sadly mistaken.
Although, not a bad idea for a thread.
>>2341649
I usually don't draw the construction likes out, I just visualize the head as a big block.
