looks more like spaghetti or a stone than hands

How do you get spaghetti from that
Realistically. How long will it take to get really good at drawing. I mean those highly detailed drawings I see her.
I have no experience with drawing and I have bad handwriting and have trouble even drawing circles and can only draw stick figures. Will I ever have a chance to even draw something simple?

fuck off
stop making these thread
and get to work
want to know how long it takes? a little longer every time you procrastinate instead of making art.
No idea what in particular you mean by "highly detailed drawings" but it will take several years even if you go really hard on it (which normally just makes people quit because they get discouraged and burn out). That said, you can probably do some good detailed studies within a year or so from reference, it'll take longer to do stuff that's completely your own.
My handwriting is shit too, luckily you can draw even with garbage handwriting. Generally you'll be wanting to use your elbow and arm more than fingers and it's really a pretty different...

depends on how smart, disciplined and passionate you are.
drawing is alot like learning a language - similar learning curve.
I've seen so many amazing artists, who by all means could acquire a cintiq, yet they use the Intuous pro?
Why? Why do people seem to find the intuous better than the more expensive cintiq? Should I go buy an intuous as well?

People have their reasons. Some hate having their hand in the way. I on the other hand can adapt to either and really feel that drawing directly on screen is most natural.
I have several devices that lets me draw directly on screen, but I want something larger(minus the cintiq price). I'm looking at getting one of the alternatives, Yiynova 22u v3 specifically.
>>2351297
Cintiqs are expensive as shit and if you don't know what you're doing you can end up damaging them mostly via scratches. They also uncomfortable for artists who are use to the textured give from paper. It's super convenient to just draw what the fuck you want straight to the screen.
Intuous (and tablets in general) are portable and cheap. The texture on them take some getting use to but many artist use to paper like it. It takes some Jedi hand/eye coordination when using a tablet.
I think those are the pros and cons I and other folks have ran into.
>>2351297
size matters most
if can't afford the giant cintiq then get an intuos with a large monitor
"Anybody can paint...all you need is a dream in your heart, a little practice, and some incredibly tight-fitting blue jeans."
Is this true anon?

almost a tear...

when i saw him making thos edang happy trees as a kid it blew my mind. he is probably the reason i still love painting
The worst thing is I thought Bob Ross was just a meme, turns out he's probably one of the best teachers that ever lived. What's really awful is going back to normal youtube tutorials after watching some Bob Ross videos.
He just loved to teach and paint and it made his videos so easy to watch.
No critics?
XDDDD LOOMIS XDDD :^)
nice! I like the original style.
I need a new profile picture and want it to be a good one.
thanks in advance.

Any advice, resources, and especially references, on dealing with how colours behave under less common types of lighting? Especially dark and coloured lights.
I'm relatively comfortable with bright indoor/outdoor lighting since potential practice is basically everywhere, but I've realised I'm basically a drunk baby when it comes to handling anything else, it's a real blind spot.
I read Gurney's Colour and Light a few years ago and have picked it back up, but anything else you could throw at me would be killer. Especially references.
>especially references
take this my man
http://www.bluscreens.net/screen-captures-a-z--updates.html
But since of course cameras are nowhere near as sensitive to color and light as the human eye, it surely won't hurt to make some real life lighting set ups yourself, that way you also have full information on involved lightsources and can turn around what you want, change perspective etc.
Do some still lifes that way or maybe just some experimenting and just watching how the light behaves.

hello /ic, my art prelim is in a week and i know fuck all about Rene Lalique help pls
You have a fucking week, just study.
Is working with Lazy Nezumi in Photoshop comparable to working with the built in stabilizing tools in Manga Studio? I tried a trial of LN a long time ago but I didn't really do any line work and inking stuff back then. I'm trying a demo version of Manga Studio now and inking is pretty amazing compared to Photoshop. However I am used to the workflow of PS so I'd rather use it if I can get the same results.
just use manga studio man
photoshop isn't affordable, it's time to move on.
oh and screw monthly subs. sage
>>2354119
Well I didn't intend to pay for any of them, I'm just wondering how close working with Lazy Nezumi in PS is to Manga Studio
>>2354112
use manga studio for inking, use photoshop for the rest. That's what I do.
Lazy nezumi sucks comparing with the options you've got in MS. just having the vector layer options is a fucking godsend.
I wanna force myself to get something done, I feel pumped and ready to take anything on.

motivate yourself, faggot. if you need others to "force" you to make art all your life, you'll never amount to anything. learn some responsibility
now get to it.
>>2353623
I don't need to be forced, sorry for using that word, it's a bit dramatic right? I meant just lend some ideas.

draw your pic related, you worthless lazy piece of shit
i've made a desicion. i'll kill my self if i don't become succesful. i don't care anymore. i have this pain, for fucking years, every. single. fucking. day. i feel like shit, i'm a failure. at everything, i'm stucked at a dead-end job. i screwed the relationship with the only person i have shared real significant love years ago. fucking years ago and still bothers me, i'm a mockery, for everyone, at everything. i hate that, and i try i swear to god i try, it's a drag, it feels so heavy, i just want to stop, and i have a hope, just to be...

You can start at any age and gitgud, you're only a failure if you die before gittinggud.

You're only a failure if you outright quit
>>2353242
>>2353243
i totally understand your point, but i feel like is a cheat answer, like, if i see a guy, in his 50's working a shit job trying to sell his art on the side and is just not enough to quit the job he hates, then something is not going well, or something just isn't going anywhere at all. to me that's failure.
in my opinion 50 is a very big number, i feel like 25/26 is my year to check out, like i'm giving it all fully commited to the craft...
