Thread for the beginners
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up.
Do not forget to PLEASE RESIZE and crop your images before uploading them. 1kpx is fine.

I just wanted to draw guys ;___;
How
Another one of these threads? Aren't you tired of whining about how you hate your art school, like we get it, there's a cringe thread already. You wanted to draw? Go and draw.
>>2378231
At my place the head guy is basically like that, he actually covered one of the students nude pieces at last year's show.
So I just got me a screenless drawing tablet (not in pic), but I've never used a drawing tablet before. I'm working with it, but it's kind of hard to use since I'm so used to paper (also looking down at my drawing).
I'm curious if there are any suggestions for little "exercises" for drawing tablets, just to help me get used to it.
>>2382523
Not really. You just have to feel around a bit and get used to it, and you get used to it faster depending on what you are trying to draw. For example do some basic time drawing to start out with before trying the stuff you are used to on paper.
>>2382523
You get used to it after one day.
Nice thread. We need more threads like this to flood the board.
I'm new to tablets myself but this helped me:
1. map the size of your tablet 1:1 to your screen, dont let it use the whole screen
2. use the stabilizer of paint tool sai
What do you guys think of my poem? Its my first one, I have 3 others.
Possessive lust
How can someone truly know what it feels like to love, I would ask.
But I now find myself among them. Those who think they know. Those who have felt the unfathomable obsession, those who know the unquantifiable possessive lust for anothers soul.
I wish each and every fingering branch of our beautifully complex lives and memories to be intertwined, to twist and grow together. For our every experience and decisions to be inveigled by the others.

Lern 2 quickly summarize a scenario or drawing.
>build your 'grid' for perspective
>juxtapose objects of interest
>finalize textures and details
Although, I do admit, that's a dopely detailed drawing for 4 hrs. Good building perspective (likely a pre-made, traceable template) and good flowing motion of the ONE subject in this scene: a fantasy centipede.

DRAW 1000: Human Anatomy Edition Ver. 1.0
This is it boys. This is where men are born.
Clean your work station and buckle up because the plans you had for the next seven days are fucked.
The rules are simple. Make 1000 drawings of the area on the human body that you have the most trouble with in seven days.
Tally up your total drawings per page. A simple suggested way to of doing this is to write it in the corner of each page when full.
The first and last ten drawings have to be from memory. This is so that you can post them in this thread for comparison and...

Well fuck this shit, I decided to start studying draftsmanship and subscribed for the watts program for a month, turn out the materials they use are not available on my country, neither the pencils or the paper used, which is simple newsprint but only sold here bu the ton on paper facotories.
I've thought of importing but it seems it wouldn't be cost efficient, makes me thing it would be better to simply go digital.
Any other anons with this problem?
>>2380290
Fuck digital, move out of your shit country and retain dignity as an artist. fuck the world.
>>2380290
What sort of country do you live in that you can't buy newsprint or charcoal pencils? Just buy whatever brand you have over there.
>>2380366
a shit one
I was hoping to find the name of this font. The text is a picture on their website so it's really hard to figure out. It would help if anyone knows a font that looks similar too.
Go to /gd/ and /r/. /ic/ isn't really big on typography
There are two different typefaces in this picture, OP
>>2382692
Bottom is arial, the shit version of helvetica.
Don't know what the top is but you can poke around here until you find something like it.

Thank you.
learn what the body is made out of and how to construct it in 3d space, learn how light interacts with hair, skin, cloth etc.
find a medium you like to work with and learn how to use it effectively.
draw as often as your schedule & willpower will allow
discuss about this shit
What is there to discuss? It's bad.
>>2382454
Oh wow namefag u r sooooo good at art, and your name is sugoi kawaii!
THANK YOU
I want to improve my line weight. Ive tried inking my work digitally, but that never works.
How do you get smooth consistant lines in your drawings? Do you wear a glove? Do you use a special pen? Feathers?
Please help if this interests you.
There is this secret called practice. Do it 8 hours a day and you'll be the smoothest fucker in town.
>>2382082
i've heard improving your handwriting is a good way to improve penmanship.
>>2382082
Stick to fine liners before going to dip pens. 0.5 0.1 only pens you need. There's basic rules repeated in every tutorial this one covers them all https://youtu.be/x0zl5NnEAyU

What the fuck Crilley? Was he always so bad?
>>2380755
Still better than 80% of /ic/ who draws manga here.
>>2380755
>Was he always so bad?
He's not necessarily that bad but he stagnated a long time ago and hasn't improved in years. So as you grow you're going to notice how stale his work is since there's no improvement.
>>2380755
He literally cannot draw anything without a reference.
