expensive as fuck

Depends on the course. What were you thinking on attending?
And of course it depends on how hard you work.
Wondering if any of you guys are up for a request/challenge.
Could any of you draw/paint a pic of a dragon eating a larva? The larva coming out of a jar of other larvae labeled olive juice.
Pic related: style of dragon requested.
Are you up for a request/challenge op? It's simple, just deposit $90 in my paypal account and I'll draw the dragon for you
Rule number 3 motherfucker.

Ahhh fuck. Didn't see the rules on mobile. My apologies
I haven't drawn/painted for maybe 2 years now. I've been very busy and haven't had much motivation. I want to get back into it. I have one of the older intuos medium tablets but never got into digital art that much. Can anyone recommend a decent program to get started with digital art. Preferably nothing fancy I just want to start doing something. Also are there any new guides or reference resources I should know about?
Pic is about the best I can do right now. How long until I can at least get as good as I was before I stopped?
>Can anyone recommend a decent program to get started with digital art. Preferably
Art Rage if you're looking to emulate traditional media, Gimp if you're looking for free, photoshop if you don't have a budget.
>Also are there any new guides or reference resources I should know about?
That is a very broad question depends entirely what you're looking for. I would recommend looking at some basic introductory tutorials to whatever program you choose.

I was more asking how long does it usually take people to reach their old skill level as opposed to starting from scratch. Sorry I know it's kind of a stupid question but it's a bit depressing when in your head you think you can draw something but then when you try it just doesn't come out like you expect.
>>2401039
By doing the same thing everyone should be doing. Fundamentals to get better, creating new imagery to explore style/ideas.
Been drawing/painting for a year.
Is this good at all? I don't think so myself but some perspective from others would be cool.
Also this is my first time browsing this board.
Its quite creative and asking for critique on that kind of stuff on this board is like paying a 5 year old to kick you in the nuts.
-its gonna feel like a five year old kicking you in the nuts.
I like the way you painted, but not the object itself. It looks shapeless and meaningless to me.

Bring us your roughs, your storyboards, your pencil tests etc. Talk about industry, schools, the hopelessness of it all, how we all gonna make it etc.
If you're gonna post animation that isn't yours give source or state that it isn't yours.
Keep shitposting to a minimum. Don't feed the trolls.

Why do people look for diverse representation in comics and stories? I have never read anything and thought ''wow this author must fucking hate xxx because the writer never thought of a character with xxx trait!''
>>2399324
It's not about diversity, it's about cultural Maoism.
>>2399324
it's sorta the opposite of what you said: people look for diversity because they think it's interesting to have change. It's not about "This author is racist because there's no blacks," it's more about "Wow this other author including several different races, all with unique traits. It just seems more random and human to have diversity.
Because they're retards.
My friends first digital art attempt. Using Krita and a Wacom tablet, Pretty fucking awrsome...

I agree.
yeah right your friend
How do I put in the effort to make art without technically being good at drawing and such? I'm making progress with drawing and studying books and things, but I'm too old to not have a body of work, whether it's shit or not. I like being able to look back at the work I've done and see that I have grown and am better at art than I was back then. However I'm so worked up over making shit art that I simply don't make anything at all. I want this to go, I want to be able to pick up a pencil and be brave enough to make crappy shit
You dont even need to draw to be an amazing artist of art.
You can use clay, photogtaphs, film, wood, collage i dont care as long as you are creative.
Dont look at the things you can't do, look at the things you can and dont be a sad sack of shit because you cant move a pencil as well as others.
>>2399757
The key to getting over making bad art is to not think, just go and draw. You have to stop thinking honestly. I think everyone feels this way a lot of the time, but if you put more time into drawing and being ok with making stuff that won't be good at first, then you're on the right track to actually getting good.
If you get hung up on not wanting to make bad drawings that it cripples you from actually drawing, then I promise you you will never make any improvements.
Just draw, simple as that.
>>2399757
This is literally why most people fail. You have to be willing to make shit for a sold 2-5 years.
All the time you spend complaining about it, wishing you were better, you could be drawing more shit.
>I'm too old to not have a body of work
No your not. You don't deserve to have a body of work... you haven't actually done the work.
>pfft, i recently started drawing but what i can say.
>i'm just a beginner :^)
nice thread OP
it'd be a shame if something happened to it.
It would actually be pretty nice to see the other side of the dunning kruger effect on here from time to time.

How much of talent is real?
>>2398881
it exists, i wouldnt say its that big of an effect.
Nobody is going to agree because people can't agree on a definition.
I think people who argue that natural aptitude doesn't exist at all are delusional. It feels to me like this "talent is a myth" idea stemmed from people losing patience with unskilled people saying "I'm not talented and that's why I'm bad at art."
Lack of talent is no excuse, you can always accomodate for not being 'a natural'. That doesn't mean talent doesn't exist. Some people just find shit more intuitive than others. Maybe art in...

This guy(who apparently is a veteran programmer in the gaming industry) is basically saying that if you are not born with talent and cannot do pixar level work at a young age, you have no hope of making it
What do you guys think?
that OP got no talent and should be banned from /ic/

The cunt is a programmer he has no say in the art side of things.
Any professional artist will tell you otherwise, and those are the people who've actually made it.

Who do you guys recommend for learning how the pelvis works?
What did you guys do to really understand it?
I'm doing a lot of studying from game art and sometimes it gets extremely hard to understand what's going on under the fabric, especially when they have some really dynamic perspective, and even when i'm doing gestures/studies from models sometimes it's still hard to understand how/where the pelvis is and how/why it's acting the way it is.
Also another thing i'm not understanding is how the pelvis works when you're in the air, I know when you're grounded the weight bearing leg makes the pelvis tilt in a certain way, but when you're falling/jumping I don't know how leg positioning affects the pelvic tilt
btw this pic right here is what I was talking about in the op, crazy perspective and pose
Your first mistake is studying league splash art. Riot cares more about flare then proper anatomy. That's not to say their art is bad mind you.
Poppy <3
>>2388139
I'm definitely aware that some of the artists anatomy isn't the greatest at times, but they're still awesome to learn from since the poses are usually very dynamic.
btw all the new poppy splashes that came with the rework are amazing.
rip me a new dip
>>2399065
why tho
Hey /ic/?
How do I sexualize both men and women in my drawings?
And can you redirect me to some artists that perfectly do that?
What exactly do you not understand?
Just look at hot models on Google, see how the men and women are like, exaggerate some features (smaller waist, wider hips on females, prominent adonis belt on males, bulge and breasts, etc)
>>2391464
to sexualize a woman draw a woman
to sexualize a man give him a suit

lol no.
