Your drawing fails to create the illusion of volume and depth and lacks any kind of appeal
Your rendering is two-dimensional and your understanding of underlying forms may very well be nil
read the sticky

Why did your render this piece of shit? Next time use beginner thread so people don't laugh as they scroll through the catalog.
Is there anything anatomically wrong with this ?
yeah
Anatomically? No. Moraly ? Yes.

Thank fuck.. i've made it as an artist then :)

Does anyone have experience with character design?
I have someone looking to commission me for some comic work which I'm fine with but they asked about doing character designs too. They said they want just clean b/w lineart but I don't think they're factoring in the rough sketches and revisions that goes into designing the character, I think they believe they'd describe the character and I would just draw them once and that would be that. I've never really done designs for a client before. How do I charge for this type of work, and how do I explain...

Bump
I really could use some advice here, need to email them back soon.
>>2403020
I assume this is just some private client shlub, not a business with a bit of dosh. The reality is you'd be doing the work for cheap money, the client isn't going to understand how much work it is. You can explain to them the process and all that goes into it but however much money they have to spend on this project is independant of all that. Can't get blood from a stone and all that.
You have two options:
1. Figure out how long it'd take you to do one of these designs (best guess)...

I think the person has a pretty good budget to work off of, and fortunately it seems like the project is fairly small scale - they just want to put together a pitch book so they only need a few pages and from the sound of it probably want a couple of defining images of the main characters to show along with the pages. I think I'd better ask just how much of the designing I'd need to do or if they already have some established images, that way I can figure out how long it would take and price it based on that....

Hey guys. Im practicing drawing shit into perspective. I took this battlefield heroes image and drew some stuff out of it and drew a tank into it and tried to think what the tank on the right would look like if it was completely in the scene. The tanks feel a little weird though, like they are not quite in perspective or something. I would like to draw some soldiers into the picture next, but I'm having a hard time drawing human figures into perspective. Maybe someone could sketch some examples to help me out?
>>2400675
How about you lay out a one point perspective grid before you drop in the tanks/figures/lighthouse etc. It'll help get the relative size of everything. Also don't photo-bash you fucking noob, or reference another person's artwork for that matter. Don't give up.
thread is relevant to my interests, bumping
>>2400675
How about you draw your own images from scratch rather than just piggybacking off someone else's ideas. You'd learn a lot more. Eventually you'll need to make your own shit from beginning to end so start now.
The artists already did the hard part of coming up with the scene and some of the compositional elements, that's stuff you need to learn to do. Go read about vanishing points and horizon lines, draw out a grid and figure out why your shit is wrong.
If people keep giving you all...

Anybody have a piece of work they've done that made them aggravated while creating it?
Picture relevant, it's a progress shot of the one that got me while drawing it.

>using a grid
>>2400480
I get aggravated all the time when I can't properly refine a sketch. Fixing one problem just creates another, and the cycle continues until I scrap it.

Fix the vagina.
I'm trying to make a child-like version of Finn from The Force Awakens.
I don't think it's good, there's something in the head proportions that aren't alright. You guys mind lending me a hand on this? Would love some critique and suggestions
>>2385869
it's good, proportions are somewhere between chibi and child-like. Not sure what you're going for...
but realistically, the legs are short, kind of more babyish/toddler.
As a stylized thing it's good, like a preschool toy.
>>2385890
I'm not 100% sure either, anon.
Maybe i'm stuck in this chibi-childlike-limbo indeed.
I don't really care, as long as it looks cute. Probably it will look better with texture on it.
I'm just exploring, it just fels like the head isn't as good as it should or could be. Thanks for the insight.
The arms are too long and the legs are too short. But it kinda almost works. It's not bad at all
hello guys I need some help
can anyone link or reference some good female anatomy books?
It doesnt matter if it is realistic or stylized, just recomend me or link some good books
btw, anyone got this book scanned yet?
tfw poor fag and cant afford to ship in my country
I wish we could find pictures of naked women online.
>>2404083
Read the sticky you faggot. Don't just focus on how to draw women
I've been drawing recreationally (and more recently, professionally) my entire life.
However, whenever I draw it's just some scenario in my head that I would enjoy seeing drawn, or maybe a character in a funky pose to play around with how their anatomy would work. Or on occasion, a loose anatomy/landscape/object study.
However the stuff I draw is always "conceptually shallow" in the sense that I'm not trying to tack some social/political/etc message onto it. I've definitely tried before, but it always feels forced as fuck, like that...

That just means that you don't really have anything meaningful to say right now, which is fine. It's better to realize that you don't really have some kind of message you want to convey to people than to trying to tack on cliche bullshit in an effort to appear deep. Try to get more experiences in life and maybe you'll have something to say. If you have had experiences in life then try to sit yourself down and really think about why they were important or how they impacted you. It should come from...

It's weird, because I have had quite a turbulent life and currently don't really have any desire to revisit any of it through art.
On that same tangent I'm also not one of those people who will draw something "angry" when I'm angry, etc. I prefer not to dwell on the emotion, because I feel that taking the time to draw it out only prolongs that kind of mood much longer than necessary.
It's been suggested to me to seek therapy for getting more in touch with how I feel/felt...

>generally I'd rather move on instead of dwell
False dichotomy. All the more so because "moving on" probably means "ignore, suppress, deny"...
Your experiences and emotions are part of what makes you you, anon. Why deny who and what you are?
I don't care if you put that into your art. Frankly, it wouldn't mean anything to me anyway, as I'm not you.
Everyone always says post your work, but nobody ever listens. Hey, how about a best piece thread? Pic related: my best one so far.
>>2404071
Great work anon.
I love the colors; the subtle shifts between hue and value. A true artist. I can see that the subtle phenomena become clarified through frantic and critical lines, it simply leave with a tribute to the limits of our world.
