I want to make sharpie stuff on nice paper. How can I preserve the paper and make my art last forever?
>>2424391
easiest option would be to scan the original and get a good archival quality print at the same size
>>2424391
Hairspray and/or proper fixative.
I started a comic, does anyone else tries this year?
Reads more like a storyboard than a comic
>otherwise your not half bad. I
>>2347281
It is true. I have no very clear as to take advantage of smaller vignettes. I am a scientific illustrator and I know just a little comic.
>>2347254
That's captivating, I'd love to see more.
Post those self portraits
did i do good?
no crit plox, in interest of increasing drawings to shitposts ratio.
will ask for crit when I draw 30 more. hold tight fellow grouches.
>>2385687
don't be afraid of more contrast...I know what i made looks like shit, but there are zero values in your drawing
Can you name a better instructor for beginner artists, instead of Glenn Vilppu?
I dont like his videos on NAM. Go with Steve Huston
On NMA? Sheldon Borenstein
>funny Jew
>alright man...that's enough...
>versatile subject matter
for figure drawing i would say michael hampton is the best for artists new to figure drawing. hampton is pretty good for artists of any range of skill
i'm mainly familiar with vilppu's anatomy videos which i'd say are for more advanced drawers. his figure drawing approach is good too but maybe a little too ambiguous for beginners. hampton's is much more methodical and straightforward.
So beyond finding commissioners and freelance work, how do you land an illustration/design job? Does anyone know what sort of portfolio pieces and skills companies are looking for, and is it worth making portfolio pieces to suit a generic company if there aren't any local companies that suit your existing portfolio? Would really appreciate advice on where to direct my time/effort.
>>2423513
>Suit your existing portofolio
Change your fucking portofolio would be the easy answer.
>>2423524
It's the simplest answer yeah. At that point you are kinda out of your element and competing with people who can do that work a lot better, though, hence my question of whether it's worth it and how to make it work.
I'll pay you 10 dollars to draw something for me
Hey guys I spent a lot of time getting this right, I plan to start drawing for comission, do you think this is a good piece for my portofolio?
>>2421958
yes if you redo it, its "stacked",more fluidity, less compact
hf gohard on practice and go for it
>>2422022
you know one thing thats helpful is leaving a critique that the artist can understand
>>2422022
What nigga?

I have until March 26th, to guarantee publication of my newest novel. I ask that you read it. Nominate it on Kindle Scout or receive rewards with a pre-order on Publishizer. Or ignore it and continue on in your conquests.
>>2424027
i would gladly illustrate a proper cover for your book for a small nominal fee of only 200 american dollars.
>could a comedy bring together Muslims, Christians, and Atheists?
Probably not. also the absolute state of your typefaces
This isn't visual artwork or criticism. You're shilling for a book no one will read.
/b/ I need advice I'm thinking about becoming an apprentice tattoo artist and I was wondering if its worth it or not
>pic kinda related I guess?
If you really like it, then it's worth it.
if you do it because you want to be an edgy tattoo artist just for being a tattoo artist, dont, realise you will be drawing people their exact shitty ideas a LOT, if you're really driven and can take that fact with you then you should go for it, it's probably a nice job but there's plenty of shitty tattoo artists out there if you're not gun git gud don't bother

You know how everyone typically recommends ctrlpaint.com and matt kohr as a great beginner's resource for learning how to paint digitally for free/on the cheap? Is there a similar resource for learning flash/animate CC that's cheap and beginner friendly? The best thing I've been able to find on google aside from adobe's own tutorial lessons is a series on trainsimple. I can't afford lynda.
>>2423002
can you afford pirating? Because that's literally your only option.
>>2423002
Newgrounds.com has some tutorials on flash animation.
I can't tell you more.
>>2423109
If I have to. Are there any torrents you'd recommend?

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one.

Do you go to an Atelier, an Art School or get any offline instruction at all? Share your stories, anxieties and questions here (instead of making several flippant individual threads that will die within a few days as usual)
Just visited the one local atelier today. The building it was in was a dump but the section dedicated to the Atelier itself was well kept. I was surprised with the youth of the students; I'd expected there to be a lot of old people but it looked to be predominantly normal looking people in their mid-20s so I didn't really feel out of place...

do these ever have weekend classes?
>>2410704
Yeah, one of their biggest strengths is the "pay as you go" billing and the versatile scheduling. Not to mention they're relatively inexpensive vs. a college, though that doesn't make them cheap by any means either.
>>2410726
any you can recommedn in the socal area? or can you point me in the right direction where i can look it up?
OK, a few things:
How's my Tracer drawing? I left plenty of details behind like the british flag but overall its very faithful to the original piece.
Now some questions:
If I replicate enough of these drawings will I eventually get a grasp on how to originally create them from 0?
Is there any type of eraser that actually leaves a clean sheet (with no trace of what was erased)? I had issues with this one because I had to erase a bunch of stuff and in the end the paper was very dirty
Why do the colors look so murky? I cant get a solid color,...

I'm really fucking annoyed with drawing from the shoulder. I'm fat as fuck so keeping my arm in the air is exhausting, but I also have both carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome so it starts to strain me after a short while.
What even do?
>>2423980
dont take the drawing from the shoulder thing too literally; draw from the shoulder if you're drawing vertically or drawing large shapes. There's nothing wrong with switching to your forearm or wrist now and then
>>2423980
Learn to draw with the other hand, bruh. You are supposed to have two.
>>2423987
This.
Also while you're at it make sure to learn how to draw with your mouth in case you lose your arms in a car accident so people 80 years into the future can call you a tragic genius.
Is loomis truly my only way?
>>2423858
just use plumb lines god damn you.
>>2423858
Loomis has nothing to do with recent manga, unless its semi realistic manga like berserk movies, copy your favorite artist like hell and study anatomy, from life or GOOD hentai artists.
