Does drawing make anyone else want to kill themselves? It's incredibly disheartening.
i can tell you have no spark. you'll never make it with that attitude. just kill yourself senpai.
>>2593579
I wish I would but the fear of non-existance is way too much.
>>2593565
Drawing made me kill myself
Does anyone know where to get the Anatomy Master Class videos? CGpeers doesn't have them. (If they aren't online, maybe someone is willing to start a group buy? I'll happily add in 5 or 10 bucks)
>>2583736
looks shitty t b h
>>2583744
Why? It just looks traditional, very "mathematical" and refined
>>2583744
I would love to have a course that explains all of the bones technically and accurately, using formulas, not the simplified bullshit that most anatomy courses use.
What do you think of Noah Bradley
And his 10k$ way to become an amazing artist.
/ic/'s waifu
you're adorable
What's your opinion on plein air painting? How often do you do it?
>>2593172
It can look good or look shitty depending on the artist
I never go outside or ever make art, too busy asking for advice on /ic/
>>2593172
Its fun. Its like hunting for mezmarizing light effects and try to capture them on paper. Great if you want to get a sense of natural lighting too.
I think it's great if you live in a place with some nice sights, and the weather is good.
It's great for learning about colour theory and I think it really gets you to paint smarter because of natural time constraints.
I unfortunately can't do it too often where I live though, due to living very far north.
So I got up This morning and said to my self, time to start making comics.
So I got onto my deviantart account i(n which I don't use but just started to) and started to cook up some cancer.
Here is the deal, I suck at art and digital art, but in the span of 5 hours or more, I stared making these little comics (pic related) and in that span of time from this morning, I got 10 Llama badges already (for those familiar with the badge system. Obviously I found out deviantart is cancer, and you can post cancer to get some if any acclaim.
My question, is this normal...

Most artists have devart.
>>2593358
But most 4chan-ists say dev art sux because of people there and output. I just assumed they didn't use it cuz they didn't like it
>>2593528
The people who say that are either b8ing or legitimately retarded. Everyone has a deviant art, ranging from the pros to absolute beginners. The community itself is a bit weak but there's no harm in having an account. It's up to you to decide when your art is at a level where you want to share it but the platform is perfectly fine.

Not that much art included...
"Drawing Landscape In Pencil" by Ferdinand Petrie, 1979
I stole it from an art class way back in middle school, and it is practically the only book I value.

How's this? Wasn't intending to draw a masterpiece I was practicing making a design of my own for a first and wanted to see the thoughts of /ic/ if it were something worthy enough to be seen in anime or manga.

Hey, and welcome to /ic/. Individual threads (especially at a beginner skill level like you) are not taken seriously unless you are exceptionally good. Please use the Beginner thread or Alt art thread.
Thoughts?
>>2589109
On Jana Schirmer's painting or on Procreate? I haven't tried it with the iPad pro/Apple pencil combo (which she used) but it's a great app.
>>2589109
Very good op, the lighting on the nose seems off but the rest is fine. The hands I'd make look a little bent to show the joints
People(4chins) constantly tell me that I'm suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect. Is it true or are you guys jelly?
>>2586185
We are jelly
>>2586185
On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is total noob, 5 is intermediate and 10 is pro, I'd say you are a 3.5.
You are on the right track but you are still suffering from many of the beginner mistakes.
It's okay to be positive about your own work but If you think your art is anything above a 4 I'd say you are indeed being delusional.
>>2586196
not OP, but no.
I think that digital drawing lacks substance and remove any distinction or proper style
It's not bad, I could probably not realize landscapes like that without a fuckton of references, but I'm not baffled
Anyway, godspeed OP, don't stop improving

Why not?

It all depends on how you use it's and what for. There's a reason a lot of people tell you not to start with ref before sketching, it can limit your creativity. Long term for your own personal growth it might be detrimental if all you do is bash without taking the time to draw. If you start with sketches fist then find images to make it work that's probably a better way to work.
Now about the vid, for how cartoony this guy draws the use of photo bash seems like a cop out. Tat's probably my...

Was at Anime Expo 2016 this year, which had over 500 artists in Artist Alley. Why do so many artists spam unoriginal ideas so often? There are certainly some artists who stand out, but I'd say a good 80% of them at every artist alleys I go to do the same chibi, cute, or sexy waifus year after year and it's completely unoriginal.
What I noticed missing was art like pic related. Renascence-era styled artwork with fine details, and accurate symmetry. I saw virtually none of that, and if there was anything like that, the artist used did a very simple, plain, piece...

And don't cite the Monalisa. I get it she was the original waifu .
Well i do this about 3 or 2 years, and what do you think? Neither im to good now.
>>2590815
i'm not sure if this consider as 'outsider' art
>>2590815
Well, I recommend you do something else you cuck.
What do you think about this. I drew it about 1 year
Do you remember the image/scene/cartoon/movie/game that gave the spark for art.

FLCL to be honest, m8.

I read a lot of Marvel/DC as a kid but I remember being especially impressed by Rork as a kid, even though I didn't get the plot because I was very young.
Also, Gustave Dore, because his work was on the books I learned to read with. I only learned way later it was done by the same dude.
> I was born with ligameme though.
Seriously when I was almost a baby an obstetrician told my mother that my job would involve drawing. Go figure.
