I have a name that I really love, Nemo, but I don't know if I should go by it in fear that people will mistake me for a fan of that orange, animated bastard. The name is actually an oxymoron; in Oromo meaning "the man", but in Latin meaning "nobody". Is it worth the misconceptions, or should I find another?
Does anyone else have this problem?

people aren't going to care about your name as long as your art is good and a good name wont make up for shit art.
>>2460796
you're overthinking this shit. If you want to go pro (no doing animu shit/fanart pandering)/patreon), just use your god given name. Unless you have a pretty common or forgettable name, stay the fuck away from online handles or cute nicknames. Not to mention there must be a ton of shit with the Nemo handle, which can screw up your ranking in google search. You want your site to be the first thing that pops up when someone searchs for you on Google and with a name as generic as Nemo you're pretty much fucked.
>>2460796
you'd generally want to use a name that isn't taken so you're fresh on google's SEO and all your pages register first

You fool. That is a still from a cinematic master class. It really is one of the best films in history- right up there with Metropolis or Citizen Kaine.
Disgusted you do not know this.

>Critical analysis of memes has long been one of our interests here at The Philosopher's Meme. Last year, we were invited to lecture on Memetics, Art Theory, and Post-Internet Philosophy at Humboldt University in Berlin. This is a recording of that lecture, which happened on December 14th, 2015. It has been quite some time since then and many of the ideas presented have since been revised, changed, and added to, however this lecture provides a good groundwork to our theory and we believe it might...

I think i might be decent skilled when it comes to draw with black n white shades. I'm not colorblind or else, but when i try to color my drawings, this happens.. It's just frustating, do you guys suffered the same at the beginning of your color journey ? Or is it that i'm just not meant to coloring ? I see a lot of people doing it naturally, especially womens, and i just can't improve :/
>>2464356
First question I would ask is have you ever tried doing color charts to get to know what kind of shit you can output with the colors you have?
You need to be able to mix the colors you have in small increments to achieve at least a few intermediate steps. Then if you are painting from a reference be it life or photo, your task basically to find which swatch on your color chart is closest to area on the reference source...
If you are not working from reference, then you can prepare a certain limited area of your...

Are you using markers?
I started colors with markers, and all my shit was always over saturated. Actually, it's still over saturated. I've been trying to color more drawings lately and use color palettes that I find appealing, but it's been a long road. I haven't found a fast way to practice colors to get a lot of mileage under my belt.
I'm all ears if you figure it out OP
>Start reading a Loomis book
>He starts talking about fucking water color and basic beginner shit instead of what I came for
>expecting knowledge of how to produce art to be spoonfed to you like a babby
then dont read the stuff you dont need to read m8

the only good loomis book is eye of the painter
I've had issues with a person who keeps art shaming everything I do to the point I deleted all my stuff from the net and that I've given up on drawing even though it used to bring me alot of joy. I can understand criticizing it but to say things like I should draw again & that I should kill myself etc is a bit far esp when that person isn't the best artist in the world either. I want to start drawing again but I need to know how do you guys deal with art shamers? I know its different for everybody. The pic is not mine but I really enjoyed it though it used...

I looked through a bunch of tumblr artist's archives, and it's very rare to see improvement at a steady pace. Some do not improve at all yet post art like somebody gives a shit about them.
Why are the majority of them not conscious about this? Are they content with making shit?
>>2460800
Lets see your progress OP

They're drawing for fun.
>>2460803
Not op but
Are you defending these shitlords?
I'm struggling to find some overarching goal for my art that doesn't have to do with improving. I mean like a goal that puts me in a really desirable situation.
I know I want to be a digital artist. I know that for sure. I originally wanted to work for an AAA game company, maybe Bethesda, Blizzard, etc. but I slowly realized it's not actually that great and living in Southern California's shithole sounds like a bad time.
But I really want to picture myself doing something pretty cool in order to have long-term motivation. Dave Rapoza has a...

Develope your own IP and make money purely from that
>>2463976
IP is pretty vague my man
I have zero game design knowledge nor any intention to make a game if that's what you mean, sounds way too complicated

What do you spend most of your day doing ?
Visual Novels aren't too hard to build.
I'm a programmer so I don't know if I can say anything you'd like though.
Like, the shittiest but most profitable digital art is in website design. Take some wordpress templates, slap them together with good design and an easily exploitable framework.
Easy 2,000-5,000 dollars.
Can I get some critique and judgement on my drawings? I started drawing seriously about a week ago, please tell me everything you can. Be rude and stuff

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one.
