Make me a new asshole
looks like you have your style down, just depends on your goals, how are you trying to get better?
Looks boring.

Someone in my family owns a Mead Schaeffer oil painting. I'm jelly.
Is this book good for a beginner? or should i just go for stuff like James Gurney and Scott Robertson books?
I wouldn't say that book is very good at all as a learning book. It very loosely touches upon each of the basics, with just the basest of each fundamental. Most of it is just pages of finished artwork by various artists/illustrators to serve as inspiration, so if you want that, go ahead. You should go Robertson, or something more specific like the books you'll find through the sticky, if you actually want to learn things proper.
There's a good segment about how to find the golden ratio on your page, regardless of proportions, for compositionl purposes,...

Are the W&N Pigment Markers the biggest art supply scam currently around or just "too ahead of its time"?
>Due to the ingredients, doesn't blend so well with any other markers (water-based, alcohol, acrylic)
>Needs its own specific paper, or things like Yupo to fully utilize the gimmick
>Soaks through any other types of paper, blending is completely fucked because of that
>"100 years of lightfastness" slogan to justify...

They're a step on the right direction at least, being lightfast unlike those expensive dye-based makers. I only have 3 grays but I like them well enough. They bleed less than Copics, but also tend to ruin the surface of normal paper if you layer more than a couple of coats. You don't really need their fancy paper, they actually work really well on the back side of regular marker paper.
their white marker is cool, but yeah. trying to clean off white nib any time after mixing wound up to a lot of the paint being lost. could try to do extra stuff to lessen the paint loss.
i've also seen a review vid of someone attempting to use them with a brush as a bootleg watercolour. ended up pretty awkward
Are these better than alcohol markers ? What are the differences beetween them ? Could we youse the two for the same kind of drawing ?
Personals?

Anyone here a guru with a spray can?
I create string art and I'm currently planning out a new piece. Part of it, however, i want to spray my canvas differently (rather than the usual flat black color).
I've noticed a lot of street artists making outrageous work with spray paint and gloss paper. One technique in particular is layering a bunch of colors and then laying a piece of newspaper or plastic to peel some color off and make a textured look.
My question is, can i create the same effect if I do this on a wooden canvas?? Or will the wood absorb...

Here's one example of one of my pieces...
No one have the drawing program workbooks from Watts Atelier? Not the master/painting, the drawing one.

I am looking for the painting ones. Willing to post the drawing ones if some one has the painting ones.

>Hello _artist_! I am a big fan and want to know if you have any tips about getting into the industry?
>Post your work online, draw everyday, draw a lot, especially from life!
Holy shit fuck any young artist who got lucky and successful early on and gives advice like this. These fucking people never mention networking, the necessary dilemma or getting a part-time job just to support your art, or even that luck has a huge fucking factor in whether or not an artist gets noticed and that sometimes, you might...

How could you explain luck having a factor in art at all? Is it just luck that someone woke up one day and drew a girl with a dick? Is it luck that people happen to be very into that? Or that they have excessive money to blow on dickgirls? Ultimately it boils down tp you either being found by your skill or you hitting a niche
>>2593899
It's luck that you even got noticed in such a competitive field by someone who was able to give you a big opportunity. And I'm not speaking about people who draw porn on Patreon, I'm talking about people in art-based industries like comics or animation where landing a job at a well-known studio is like trying to purposely get hit by lightning.
>>2593900
>tfw got a decent job at a studio with a portfolio I was personally not proud of
I think you underestimate the number of jobs out there anon. As well as the skill level needed for them.
You're missing a bit of info in your post. "Landing your FIRST job at a well known studio is like trying to get hit by lightning."
Most people at well known studios have been around the block a few times, they have a resume of experience. If you are in fact expecting...

WHERE ARE MY BADGES REEEEEEE
Lets cut to the meat of things, does talent exist? Lets sort this out once and for all
>>2590886
Yes. It's what separates everyone. Those with more talent and those with less. If there were no such thing as talent. Everyone would be equal.
>>2590886
Talent for intellectually demanding tasks = Intelligence.
And I'm guessing you don't have a lot of talent if you have to ask questions like this, right anon?
