If you could recommend one book or give one line of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

If I had invested fucking everything I had when I was younger in 3d printing and learning algorithms I would have no money Today.
Does anyone know what this piece of art is called? Dont know anything about it, not the year, neither the creator.

shows people you aren't good at art. so i guess it depends on whether you aren't good at art.
>>2476248
The idea s fine but i'd definatley take time refining the lines, even if it is to just be seen as a thumbnail it is better for it to be nice looking as people may look closer and if they are new to your work you will want to make a good impression.
How hard would you practice each day?
What techniques would you study? In what orders?
Which instructors would you watch?
Digital or traditional, or both?
>>2475687
I'd probably just study the old masters and draw everything I could. pencil and papers. Maybe get some animal anatomy books because animal studies are hard.
I do. I'm 18 and I have a year to NEET before I move out and do shit. I could do longer like my siblings did, but then I would feel like a piece of shit for leeching off my parents
im doing this right now. well im working too. from 7am to 2pm im working, at 2pm im starting to learn until 10/11pm. started with keys to drawing to drawabox into scott robertsons how to draw. pen/paper for stuff that has to be done on that medium because its easier (plotting perspective with a ruler etc) and all stuff that im compfy with i use the intuos pro.

pls don't ruin this thread with that autistic list.
Does Draw with Jazza annoy you?
It annoys me because he's not that good and he's built a YouTube career on educating people. Something about his work always looks off. He doesn't seem to have an eye for the more subtle forms and anatomy.
I see a lot of people like this. They've been drawing at the same level for years and years. Does everyone have the ability to reach an Iaian McCaig level of skill?
His art reminds me of something you'd see on a box of children's pencil crayons.
>>2463572
>he's good
Clearly not
>>2463572
he's pretty confident and likeable, and not an awful presenter, and that can make up for a lack of skill, especially when its just youtube. Conversely, you could be doing master-tier work but if you don't put yourself out there, you'll never get noticed
Is there a certain psychological profile that matches a great artist?
There's tons of cliches and stuff written on this by philosophers, and probably no good answer. But I'm interested to see /ic/'s opinion.
Whatever psychological profile matches triple ligaments
>>2475919
You only need the spark, not the chimp tendon.
Of the MBTI profiles, I'd say INFP is the most artsy one.
Please help me improve.
I need other peoples inputs, so that i dont just sit in an ecochamper of my own thoughts of my art.

instead of drawing with lines, draw with shadows.

Yeah! okay ill try that! :D

Instead of drawing with your mind, draw with your eyes
What medium is this? I can't tell if it's watercolor or not.
>>2473047
I'm usually a /k/ so naturally I am a derp.
oil
How do you think this is watercolor?
Your opinion of these street artists that get millions of views on YouTube, and have people showering them in praise?
>>2475431
I'm sure you'd get the least bit of praise if you put in the effort too.
>>2475436
Huh?
>>2475440
You get jealous of the people who receive praise and recognition but do nothing to receive any yourself.
when is the time to step up on drawing?
Pic related is my current tablet but was thinking about stepping up on a intuos
i really like the sensitivity and the feeling, but is it worth the price difference?
drawing tablet* sorry
>I really like the sensitivity
Post your work
>>2474091
it depends on where you like to work i own a intuos small and a instuos large and have 7 years with the small and 4 years with the large, I only use the large one at my studio and the small one at starbucks or home and when i travell
Am I a real manga artist now?
Why do I feel a sense of dread when thinking about trying for an art career?
There's something not right there. Something that doesn't sit right with me, but I can't pinpoint it.
>>2474907
no spark
>>2474908
The fuck does that even mean
You're dreading the fact that it isn't easy
people who don't have the ligameme usually feel this way
Hey everyone! I'm currently a finalist in a contest to meet David Gilmour as well as win a beautiful signature series Fender signed by no other than David himself! I have been inspired by his music all my life and have always considered him my strongest influence as a guitarist. It would be such an honor to be able to meet him and thank him for everything as well as be able to give him this drawing I did that is inspired by a combination of the man himself as well as Pablo Picasso's famous painting "The Old Guitarist". I would so appreciate it if you voted...

Hey /ic, longish time art student here. I have been studying art for around 6 years now ( drawing, painting, graphics etc) , i have made alot of progress over the years. Sadly i don't have many examples of my artwork other than the 3 pictures i have on my phone from last term. Anyway, i study in a known artschool in eu, and im having some issues that are giving me problems to reach higher. I have zero problems doing studies at school, for example still life, acts, etc, however when it comes down to simply creative work of my own, i hit a brick wall. I often end up just...
