How the fuck do I paint? All I learned how to do was sketch something and line it.
But how do I paint digitally?
Learn how to use layers and masks.

Take about 2000 of your favorite pictures and build color mosaics out of each them alternating between creating the color from the pallet and just picking it.
I have about 11,000 reference images I deconstruct
>>2494331
care to upload them?
provided you have an adequate enough skill level, where is a good place to do some lower end commissions for people with lower expectations?
go on deviantart and draw furries and anime.
You will not get a helpful answer unless you vastly elaborate on what you do, and the industry you are looking to break into.
"Commissions" can refer to many different things. I hope you're not thinking of some Tumblr-trash personal-commissions for like $10.
Try searching, seriously, artists do a great deal of things besides making art and most of it consist of finding people that can give you a job.
Also try Upwork, I saw some fat fuck with red beard called David North there charging $22/h for his illustrations and I'm suspicious he is also owner of this site and portfolio:
http://www.davidnorthillustration.com/
And before you ask - yes, he has earned on average $50 per piece.
How do I color like this?
be more stupid. vibranium claws dont scratch adamantium/vibranium shields.
other than that use lots of reference
>>2494946
>I've never read a comic before 2000
Keep thinking that.
pretty sure I read almost every cap comic before 2000. nbever remember vibranium doing shit to caps shield.
What is the best portable, compact and with replaceable ink type of drawing utensil that does the same job as either a fine-tip brush or a pen-and-ink type pen?
If I'm being unclear please say so

what does /ic/ think about this KNKL tutorials and how he teaches you?
i think he does a good job going in depth with his tutorials.
>>2493239
He seems like a nice dude, and has good tips about life, but take his technical advice with a grain of salt.
judging by his thumbnails, the anatomy in his older stuff seems off and the quality seems variable but his newer stuff seems alright. stuff that he posted within the past 2 years seems decent
should I make a tumblr and post studies daily and the original piece once a month? I'm by not means good or anything, but I'm starting to grasp the fundamentals
Permanoobs is a shit SHIT place to upload because it takes AGES to upload a single image, tumblr is much more fast?
does anybody does this? or is it better to just not tell anyone about it until I am decent enough to showcase online. I mean, I don't want to lose my progress and all that
WHAT TO DO IC?
>>2492721
upload completed works that are at your skill level/ability and track your progress that way. don't upload studies senpai
>>2492721
Participate in /ic/'s last artist standing deal. Do your work daily, ignore the shitposting that is every single thread, and stay productive. Nobody is going to find you on Tumblr unless you draw fanart/porn/fetish porn.

Can we talk about how fucking good Shad has become?
EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
His women are starting to looknice but he can't do backgrounds to save his life. I do have to give him credit for pumping out new content every couple days. That's impressive.

ye look at those feet
that perspective is whack, dude.
also i haven't seen the show but i was under the impression morty was underage
Anyone want to try to start a virtual community of artists? Its way easier to meet people and discuss in a virtual 3d environment like that and you can upload your work and get feedback etc.
If your interested get a SL account and go to a place called "MAGE Sandbox".
>>2494213
Great, now I can hear you autists shout at me "It's shit read the sticky loomis" at me but in a virtual world. Twice the effort tripple the shitposts.
SL is still a thing?
>>2494226
It's not about second life it's about a 3D place where you can talk about shit. The environment is more conducive to discussion and meeting people than image boards

wouldn't this be more appropriate to post in /wg/?
QUESTION
I think this thread is an appropiate place to ask, is Matte Painting very hard compared to regular painting? I have a job interview tomorrow to do matte painting for a TV ad, but I don't know if it will be too hard for me, I can paint properly, usually get praised a lot in draw threads, any advice?
Does the quality of a pencils really matter? Do you buy quality brands or just pick up made-in-China sets from ebay?
Also, which pencils are essential for your work?
>>2490945
>quality of a pencils
whelp i m high
>>2490945
What sort of pencils are you talking about? Graphite? Charcoal? Color? Pastel?
It really varies by material and what you're using them for.
Quality matters, but you can draw with anything and you shouldn't be blowing lots of cash if you're just practicing.
As far as graphite pencils go they're all mostly the same shit and you should buy your favorite brand that's readily available and doesn't cost a lot. That said, it's not like fancy pencils are a huge investment...

Thanks for the post man.
I was mostly thinking about graphite; because to me it really seems like the small differences in shades, especially the ones with more lead, are irrelevant to anyone that's not an architect.
I mostly use it for sketching and practice but I was curious if general quality has some bigger significance I might be missing.
And I don't really know shit about Charcoal desu.
Who's better? Which book comes first?
If you have the spark, you don't ask. Someone with the spark would just work through both books, twice, and find out for themselves.
>>2489448
Thank you for not removing the warning.
>>2489448
The better book is the one you find easier to learn from. I personally prefer Hampton but if you find both equally helpful, then use both.
