Sketched this in tribute to Trump's stumping of RATO. Enjoy!

It's somehow better than....you know what I think you know who has been crisped enough for the night.

no one follows your shitty meme life drama
I fell for the no colors, just values meme, and for years I didn'd bother coloring anything.
Now I can't use colors for shit.
How do I learn color?
The sticky resource wasn't much help. I understand the theory and can't apply.
Look at other's people art and how they applied color, DO IT MORE, and watch some Marco Bucci https://youtu.be/nINus0lYQjo
it's really straight forward, I don't know if you're expecting some kind of special trick that's gonna make you learn color instantly.
>>2507006
Post your work. If you really do have good values then learning colour will come easier since value is the largest component of it.
I recommend just doing lots of quick colour studies. Spend maybe 20 or 30 minutes on each painting. Set up still lifes, do master copies, studies from photos etc.
When it comes to colour the order of importance goes Value>Temperature>Saturation>Hue.
http://www.huevaluechroma.com/
This site will explain all the theory you need.
Who told you no colors just values?
I've heard 'values are more important than colors' which is true, not "ignore color entirely and just do values" unless you mean people suggesting it as a tool to learn value.
You still need to actually learn colors, understand value is just a vital element of that.
While you're coloring, if it's digital, greyscale it every now and then and check your values that way. If you have a marginal understanding of value from that year you spent you can usually quite quickly find out what's...

I figured with all the cool ref images that are being posted in the ref threads, we might as well revive our old char design challenge threads.
Do a character design based on the ref photo. How close you wanna stick to it is up to you, stylized or realistic, whatever you want. Just no direct studies.
>>2503572
Direct studies?
>>2503603
As in, don't just draw exactly what you see in the photo.

Wow...amazing. How'd you manage?
>yfw other students in class are better than you but they tell you you're better than them

Iktf, just change class to LAS.
Just continue drawing m8, sooner or later you'll be happy with what you can do.

>caring what other people think
Like the title says, let's share photoshop plugins we find useful for drawing and painting.
Coolorus - color wheel for photoshop with neat features like complementary colors, gamut lock, etc. Serious improvement over stock color picker.
Lazy Nezumi - actually not just a stabilizer. It comes with features like fixed angle lines, radial lines, perspective tools, etc. Also, stabilizer.

persp tools
rahll 3d tool
mix colors and color picker
those are all I use.

Mister Retro
Fractalius

Nik Collection

Those two you mentioned, as well as Carapace from the Unreal developers. It lets you draw a perspective grid over a picture and export it. Not a PS plugin, but I use it often enough.
Environment art thread? Every thread on this board seems to be about figure drawing.
Post progress/tips/crits/whatever
Seconding this thread. Mostly looking for books on the subject. There are a million books on figure drawing but I'm having trouble finding resources on environment art that aren't Alyn Crawshaw's "Watercolour landscapes for pensioners" type books.
Lookin for an enviro crit on if I should remove the caption, I have also posted in the draw thread
>>2512704
>crit on if I should remove the caption
yes.
Alright boys, it's time of this thread again.
Commission thread. how to get into making them, where the best place is to gather them. the best tactics for marketing yourself.
I want to jump in but am a little hesitant. I'm not looking to rake in a shit ton of money, but rather just a little cash on the side. But because of this, I need to set a training regimen to be ready in a month or so. One where I can easily replicate common poses people ask for. I think of doing studies of a handful of successful artist who do commissions and going from there.

is blindly jumping into it really the best move though?
>>2510306
Better to jump than to have never jumped at all.
Starting early is always better than starting too late.
>want to do illustration in an art academy
>have to show a portfolio of works I've done in past
>independent works, no class assignments
>At least 15 works
>I've been a neet for 2 years now and have done jack shit
>portfolio examination is 20 days from now
They're asking for drawing, sketches, videos, animations etc.
Is this doable in 20 days? I'm freaking out
>>2511891
If you bust your ass off maybe.
I have a folio thing coming up in October and am freaking the fuck out though.
>>2511891
It would be possible but difficult for someone who did art on a regular basis. If you have been NEET for 2 years though and not done anything then your work ethic will be shit and you aren't gonna be very fast at art either. So it will be next to impossible. It might be better to just wait a year and try for the next one. And in the mean time don't waste it away again doing jack shit, but spend that year working on art and a couple months of it working on your entrance portfolio. Presumably spending another...

Is it doable? Yes. Should you do it? No. The big problem is that you're drawing everything in a small amount of time, so it doesn't allow you to explore or experiment, and there won't be any change in skill level. They might pick up on that.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, There is a question thread for that.
Visit the usual "Art book Thread" to find your desired books. (Or look in the new sticky)
Do not forget to PLEASE RESIZE and crop your images before uploading them. 1kpx is fine.

Does somebody have any interesting concept arts/alike from video games with interesting character/location designs? Maybe some suggestions for artbooks? Silent Hill games, and Dark Souls games are really good imo, picture is just of resolution

How would you deal with that?
I guess I have to get used to feet then. Have to fap with something.

I have such shitty carpal tunnel I practically paint like my form arm isn't there anyways since it is either in incredibly pain or completely numb. I just sorta grip the in a way that it stays still and move my whole arm to draw on my display.
I could see using a prosthetic like that easily.
