true, i know some squares who can't sleep at night when they're not ultra moral.
I really can't see the need to drop so much cash on programs that are outdated, incomplete and nonfunctioning.
OC for example only carries the awesome multiplayer in its first version. as for ps, I only use portable, I can't stand neither the weight nor the loading times of the full version and really what do I need it for...3d? bones? an assortment of brushes I wont use? lol. and as for SAI, it's great but its way too basic, add in key features and it might be king.

>>
Mischief/MSPaint/Flockdraw

Photoshop gets too wonky. It starts lagging really bad when putting down a few lines.
And all those fucking shortcuts and options fuck me over.
Accidentally pressing them and not knowing what I pressed. pain in the ass.

Sai is cool, but I can't color how I like to color on there without having a million layers.
But the flip screen is amazing. (Same feelings for Manga Studio for coloring)

Mischief is nice. I like it. thought basic tools are missing. But I don't mind. The less I use them, the better. I like manually doing stuff.

How is Krita? Never heard of it.
>>

>>

>>
Shi and FireAlpaca are my mainstays

I also like photoshop but when i put down lines on my tablet it loves to make it so i can't undo.
i have used SAI in the past and i do enjoy it but i don't like booting up the VM to use it, same with AZpainter.

I use SAI mostly, it's great with painting/coloring but the other features are mostly mediocre, might try out some other suggestions here. I use Mypaint when I just want to sketch and don't feel like using paper, the infinite canvas is perfect for that and I love the way pressure works.

I use MyPaint to sketch and ink in, then crop and composite in MS Paint. Usually that just means trimming some white space, but on more than one occasion I've used it to nudge around drawings and more recently to paste in my watermark.

I've tried Photoshop and while it was all right, it's a bit too much for simple doodles. A Swiss Army Chainsaw can be a little distracting when a simple pocket knife will suffice.

I'm considering migrating to something with more features, though. I'm too broke to buy anything and too stupid figure out how to use cracked versions, so I'm currently looking into trying Krita.
>>

i tried Manga studio, i can't seem to use it since it looks like something straight out of the 90's and the commands are dildos. then again, i only have 5

This doesn't turn me on. Here's why:

The way his dick looks squished makes me uncomfortable. I'm not a big-dicked black dude, but I have had crooked insertions, and they're a shock to the system. You stop for a sec cuz you're like "Oh shit. That didn't feel right. Is anything broken?" And the mood get back-burner'd while you make sure your dong isn't permanently fuxxed.

In summary, squishdick is very uncomfortable and distracting.

Good art otherwise.

Anon just buy a galaxy note.
I a different anon, i have the galaxy note 2104 but the 10.1 versión, I really researched before making my purchase, some people said Ipad is better, but i investigate and it's not, maybe have a "better user interface", but when it comes to drawing, the only way you can do it in a Ipad is buy a external pen, and that sucks, basically pencils are adapted to operate on the Ipad, In change, the pen of the galaxy was integrated in the tablet, they have a special layer before the screen for the pen, and obviously was made by Wacom. Some people said that you draw with "lag", but is totally bullshit. They have the SketchBook included, but there are very good third-party programs out there, i like one called "ArtFlow" is really good and you can blend colors in the free version (i don't know if you can blend in the pro version of sketchbook. I use it for doing sketches.

If digital is your end goal and you have a way to take a picture of your drawings (I assume you draw well traditionally by hand) and can upload/email the pic to yourself, in an app such as gimp or paint.net (surely there are Mac equivalents), you can sort of "trace" your lines on a separate layer. I know for certain paint.net has beizer lines that render smooth curved lines. It IS tedious but will give you better results than drawing by a mouse alone....until you get a graphic tablet :)

It's true, other then that gimp gives no support for non destructive editing. Which turns out to be really fucking important when you are in production.
Krita is a touch better in this department, but still a real pain when it comes to managing layers.
That's why they are pretty weak alternative to PS.

Out of all FOS, MyPaint is the best when it comes to what it's created for vs what it delivers. It's light, simple, easy to use, has some great brushes and gets out of your way when you're drawing.
Plus, it reproduces the feeling of drawing on paper(but gives you undo option).

Manga Studio or Clip Studio, whatever they renamed it, is fucking AWESOME, yes, the brushes are customizable. It blows Illustrator, Photoshop and Painter into the weeds as far as tablet support. It's stable and there's no funny business like in Painter. And it's CHEAP. AND it'll manage an entire comic book should you so desire, or individual images.

If you have a graphics tablet, GET MANGA STUDIO (or clip studio). Worth every penny ten times over!!!!

I use SAI and Manga Studio 5 and I torrented them . It is a viable option for those who are poor like me.

digitally, photoshop cs6 for editing pages/animation, sai for everything else. mangastudio for dicking around. opencanvas on my laptop, also for dicking around. mobilesketch is a good android drawing app.

the only one out of those i actually bought was mangastudio, and that was during a black friday sale where it was around $10. everything else is pirated/free.

traditionally, i tend to lean toward brush pens (kuretake/pentel brand with bristles, not shitty felt tip sakura ones) and sketch copics.
32lb printer paper > any sketchbook ever, takes ink and marker ridiculously well, and is also much cheaper. $8 for 500 sheets, vs $8 sketchbook with 50 sheets.

I tried that but then I thought what was the point. There is nothing I could do that hasn't already been done. I hope to one day make a drawing application that isn't shit for people to use on their tablets/smartphones.

I use PS on windows for everything but I only have a filthy pirated version and since most of my time on pc is spent in linux, I nowadays use Krita for painting/sketching and Aseprite for pixel art. Photo manipulation is however unmatched in PS and while Gimp is good, it has nowhere near as much functionality. I also use Paint.net on windows for pixelart.

I have yet to try sai and manga studio tho, I'll probably pirate it like the filthy scum that I am.

In what reality is paint.net a bloated abortion. It is an improvement over paint in every way imaginable.

It's fine in linux with bamboo one as well. Mby try virtual machine?

I used to be post a lot on /i/ back in the day. The new drawing tool is absolutely awful, so that doesn't help matters.
