more northern europe/scandinavian style castles please
So are some of these castles privately owned and people live in them or are they all just government owned landmarks that have been turned into tourist attractions?
>>2609375
Most of them are privately owned, specially the "small" ones. They are opened to public, some are B&B. A wing of the castle is normally closed to visitors as it serves as homes of the owners. The big ones, like Chambord Chenonceau and Amboise are owned by the county or national government. Obviously, a wing here and there or few room are closed due to safety rules or repair works. Chenonceau for example is fully accessible as far as i know.
bump, because motherfucking castles.

Not sure if this counts,
It's Stadium High School, Tacoma, WA, USA.
Back in the early late 1890s, this building was made to be a hotel, but there were several fires and setbacks, so the local school district bought it and converted it into a high school.
It's commonly referred to as a castle when talking about the building

Filmed there a few years ago (Britfag). Surprisingly small inside - although the Long Gallery (lower floor over the "bridge" bit) is a beautiful space.
