Stuff that is so expensive, you won't ever be able to afford them
>>2598380
Only dual channel RAM.
No water block on chipset
Shitty LED fans
That's like a $1500 build. WAY out of most people's budgets.
>>2598375
>expensive
I generally cant afford expensive stuff. But If I could I would buy one of these.
>>2598376
yeah, cars

How would you feel if Elon Musk coverted one of those into an electric car?

Absolutely, though I'm more a fan of the eclipse jet, or even some of the turboprops like the TBM.

>>2601010
Isn't the engine sound and feel kind of the point, so the car would be effectively destroyed?
Hobby cars (I don't know how they're called) are not the problem, the day-to-day use cars that vastly outnumber them are.
>>2606558
>day-to-day use cars
It's not even that really, it's the horrible American city planners that build gigantic suburban mazes requiring the occupants to all commute to work 20+ miles in different directions.
>>2606558
I personally don't care less about the sound or feel of cars, I'm all about the aesthetic so I'd love electric versions of all those old classics.

>>2606558
I think electric cars have a neat sound, just in hard acceleration. It's certainly not the same vibe as a combustion engine rumble, but it reminds me of that high pitch jet engine sound.
I could imagine a new generation of electric car hotrodders figuring out how to "enhance" the sound if electric became more popular and accessible, like early glasspackers did.
I can't see many doing it seriously with the Nissan Leaf, but given enough time, who knows?

Welcome to the world of modern design, where things look neat, but most of it doesn't do shit.
These, on the other hand, are excellent pieces of kitchen equipment. At almost $50,000 for their top of the line range, I won't be getting any of this stuff anytime soon and not without a lot of luck.
Some Greek guy owned this and married Jackie Kennedy. Apparently it has a bar and the bar stools are upholstered in leather made out of the foreskins of minke whales. Sounds like it would be perfect for triggering SJW guests.

How about your very own private Airbus A380 to go with your equally luxurious 747 super jumbo? They each come with their own compliment of hawt stewardesses (or stewards, if you roll that way).
>>2613516

Many millionaires can't afford that. So they will have to settle for a less luxurious plane.
These accommodations might as well be called steerage class.

House was deemed one of the worst architectural and civil engineering nightmares in house design and construction
> waterfall causes daily mold
> stream flowing under house caused near collapse. Required skyscraper grade supports
> constant shifting and reimplemented of windows, doors, foundation due to the stream's erosion around supports
> tfw the house won't survive the apocalypse without constant, costly maintenance draining your entire fortune away
I swear, at least I have a shot of fucking a high maintenance chick than getting no return from this disaster. Nice to look at tho
>>2625478
Well the sub might look like a good idea it has allot of issues.
Every hole in the sub is a likely reason why it will not surface again.
if it can not dive deep enough it will be a worse ride than a surface ship when a storm hits.
Its draft will prohibit use in coastal areas
Most governments will not allow it to enter its territorial waters. even yachts that carry subs have issues with this.
Up keep for a sub runs higher than a surface ship.

Here's kind of a weird no-shit story. Shortly after WW2, around 1947/8 in Alameda, CA, my grandparents bought my then 13 yo mother a cheap used violin for about $10. (yes, I'm old).
Mom used it for many years and then a tuning peg broke. She took it to a luthier, who discovered it was made in Italy around 1710. It was not a Strad, but apparently made by one of his apprentices. Suspect some GI brought it back from the war, but who knows.
Back in the early 80's it was valued between $75 and $125K. No idea what it's worth today, but I imagine much more.
Did not sound too good to my ear desu. Every time I call it a 'fiddle' she gets pissed. Hope I still inherit it.

>>2626582
What the hell'd they do with those anyway? You figure they'd repurpose them and market it as private highend transportation for the super rich.
>>2632859
It is not worth it, they were designed and built in the 50's. They are relatively small inside and do not meet modern standards for luxury without an incredibly expensive refit which still wont solve the size problem
>>2628850
Well, depending on your personal conviction, how good you can keep a secret (and keeping the law enforcement bribes paid), you can start renting them out for manual labor or the international sex trade after just 5-6 years.

Also, expensive is the point of the thread. What's more expensive than insane maintenance on a treasured work of architecture?
If I had a billion dollars I would consider trying to get a place inspired by that place built. I don't think I'd want to live in any of Wright's actual stuff, though. It'd be like living in a museum.
