In fact he's talking about "Concepts", which can be even referred to certain already existing matters.

For example here Teldrassil is an enormous tree which takes both the name along its fantasy appearence from Yggdrasil.

Yggrasil seems more like an abstract concept, that's why many high quality pictures out there don't always sound convicing.
