Its that time again. Dumping pics from 2013, and 2014
2014 now
the end.
I'll post more from these year in 3 weeks when I get back. Hopefully this thread survives.
I thought there would be more titties in this thread.....

I prefer not to post pictures of people without their consent.
Very nice thread op.
so.. is it as tricky to survive out there as all websites pretend? or is it just to bring your tent and go? and is it worth it if you are not in to drugs?
>>2469149
It's amazing, there's drugs but it's not necessary. That having been said, are you into art? Architecture? Are you super outgoing? Do you like meeting new people? Are you an outdoorsman? Are you comfortable being uncomfortable? Have you backpacked before? If you have done none of those things, or aren't into those things, then you might be bored out there. There's no x-box, no electricity, no running water. Tons of people, create a city and make art & express themselves radically for a week.
It is tricky because you have to bring all your clothes, all your food, all your water, all your toilet paper, literally everything you would need to survive for a week in the desert. Nothing is provided except for porta-potties.
If this doesn't sound exciting, don't go. If it does, go. It's fun.

People who've never been always think its some dirty festival full of boobs and orgy tents.
It's not. Boobs are there, yes, absolutely, there is an orgy tent, but there's only one, and you have to find it, and you have to bring a significant other.
the burn's really not about sex, i mean, if that's all you want, there's places to go and do it. But, if you're going solo, you won't get invited anywhere truly interesting. If you're going to get laid, then you better bring someone you're into, it's way easier.
If you're going for boobs, well, you may see some boobs, but they will likely be boobs attached to someone your mom's age.
>>2469156
It always seemed very interesting festival for me, like some mysterous DIY culture/art installation/taking-it-easy-place out of this world.
But I can see it turning into the go-to thing for "degenerates" (I dig hippies so I'm genuinely joking here).
I'm a strange mix of liberal/conservative attitudes, with nudists/raelists/etc I have difficulties convincing myself they are into it for the ideology, and not just for easy sex, etc. But that is probably just a problem that exists in my head.
I am not from the US so the probability of me visiting there is very low.
The pictures are fascinating, in any case.
got some from 13
Holy crap!
If ever I save up enough money, I'm definitely coming over to the US for Burning Man at least!
It looks amazing. Hopefully I could contribute with my own art/music/creative skills.
Burning Man has lost its way.... years ago! It should be renamed Douche bag Man
>>2469188
>that is probably just a problem that exists in my head.
Yup
>>2469680
this
its no longer happy hippies
its now angry SJWs and feminazis with their transgendered, pansexual otherkin friends.
>>2469292
is this a normal thing to do at Burning Man?
>>2469696
and i'm gonna bet you haven't actually gone
>>2467674
do people really bring their kids to burning man?
>>2469155
>>2469156
This guy knows what he's talking about. A lot of people go for a lot of different reasons. If you're interested in creative expression and rebirth then make it a bucket list item because pictures and words can not describe this place. The place that is called Black Rock City btw. Burning Man is the name of the festival that takes place in this temporary city. The ground on which you walk is called playa. It is made of the finest of dust and is very alkaline so be prepared for super dusty dryness. Canned fish and coconut oil are good things to have. Now I'm rambling.
>>2469304
Yes you can contribute! Every form of creative expression is encouraged as long as you're not hurting yourself or others. Don't bring anything to sell, only give. The only thing sold there is ice, which is nice. Participate and contribute to your heart's content.
>>2478250
Yes they do! I thought the same thing, that it was probably irresponsible, but the little people seemed to have a great time with it. As long as they're being super responsible about it then I say 'go for it.'
It's a beautiful place. I will go back one day (last year was my first burn). I have heard that it has changed a lot over the years but I still found the experience to be an awakening.
Oh yeah, and if you plan on going research Temporary Autonomous Zone, Radical Self Reliance, and MOOP. On the topic of hippies, 'sustainability' is not a high priority this time, but 'leave no trace' certainly is.
Peace
Op here, I am flying back with 1.5k pics to sort, and upload soon. Here is what I have on my phone now.
Only decent pic I took with my cell.
>>2469188
My ideology IS easy sex.
>>2480898
why coconut oil?
and if ice is the only thing sold, what about food? everyone only cooks for themselves? no street food or stuff like that?
>>2481354
Coconut oil is good for the skin, and hair. It doesnt make your hands all ikey.
The ONLY thing sold is ice, and coffee at center camps. other arrangements are made with waste disposal for RVs.
EVERYTHING else has to be brought in. Its a GIFT society.
so its all free, you share your food, your booze, your chairs, whatever.
there are tons of bars there serving alcohol. camps spend thousands on booze, bring it all in, and offer it to anyone who comes in for a drink.
some camps do food, some do other things.
Thanks, OP. Got me considering asking my burner friends about going sometime. For now I need to get some rest.
In the meantime, any chance we could get a zip of all these pics?

I have a burner friend who wants me to go next year, but I went to Shambhala this year and it was so amazing that I want to convince him to go north... lol I'd love to do both but that's pretty much taking the entire month of August off and I can't think of a company that would allow me to do that haha.
Time to dump some pics

Save up $2,000
Figure out how to get there
Make local friend who go and can give you advice
Be ready to buy the ticket the second it goes on sale
If you miss out on buying a ticket, continue with your plans to go, there are more opportunities to buy a ticket last minute. I bought 3 tickets for my friends the week before the event for face value.
Amazing

I don't know what that means
>>2516754
this is the cleanup map. Each village/camper is responsible for cleaning up everything.
wood chips, hair, glitter, anything. its call moop = matter out of place. so literally everything foreign gets cleaned up
additional cleanup crews do a line sweep and pickup anything left behind
greens means clean
yellow means small stops needed to be made to pickup stuff
red means full stop, need to spend time cleaning up stuff
It would be so easy to just nuke all these leftist-elite hipsters from orbit....and the world would be better for it too.
Is it mandatory to look like a dirty hippy to go to this?
>>2519913
You have to fit in after all.
