Is there a creature that has ever existed on this planet as vile, murderous or destructive as the human?
Dolphins.
Chimps
Anything sentient enough

Can you show me the evidence of the havoc wreaked upon Earths flora and fauna by Dolphins and Chimps? Dozens of dolphins are slaughtered on a daily basis in the orient. A large portion of the Chimpanzee population are kept in cages if their habitat hasn't been destroyed
Animals kill each other all the time, often also members of their own species. They just don't have the ability to commit mass murders.

no. were the winners.

Dolphins and chimps may be brutal and occasionally sadistic but none of them do shit like this to other living creatures:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bile_bear
no because humans beat animals at literally everything
>>991416
>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bile_bear
>Farmed bile bears are housed continuously in small cages which often prevent them from standing or sitting upright, or from turning around. These highly restrictive cage systems and the low level of skilled husbandry can lead to a wide range of welfare concerns including physical injuries, pain, severe mental stress and muscle atrophy. Some bears are caught as cubs and may be kept in these conditions for over 20 years.

We're literally the only species capable of someday leaving this planet and therefore ensuring life continues once it is gone.
Everything we do is fair game.

>Compared to the three types of colour receptive cones that humans possess in their eyes, the eyes of a mantis shrimp carry 16 types of colour receptive cones. It is thought that this gives the crustacean the ability to recognize colours that are unimaginable by other species.
>>991391
No, because they are stuck even before the stoneage. When they can't hunt or find vegetables they starve and shrink in numbers, we humans invent butter hunting tolls and agriculture so we can switch to some other food source while making the first one go exctint.
It's all about ability, not intentions.
>>991416
>why are creatures who invented dominidmstication and crafted tolls more likely to use those for cruel ends?
>must be that they are cruel

Oxygen producing cyanobacteria
cyanobacteria were here, you humans are smalltime
>>991366
no, I don't think animals have the mental capability to plan
>>991449
plenty of predators are capable of laying ambushes and devising hunting strategies
and if that's not sufficient several animals have shown advanced problem solving skills that most definitely are not instinctual
>>991391
the intent is there, they certainly lack enough empathy to not do it if it suited them. They don't have the capacity or the need to commit such destruction
>>991366
Ants, death tolls of generational conflict between nests gets into the millions
>>991366
Every single animal. Humans are almost exactly the same as animals except our high intelligence means we can find disturbing new ways to get what we want. If other animals could; they would.
>>991431
Yeah, but can a mantis shrimp operate a computer connected to a network of literally billions of other computers across the globe?
>>991366
Maybe

Fucking asians.

Many species will exterminate their rivals, only humans ever gave their defeated enemies the relatively more humane option of slavery.
Humans >>>> all other shitty animals

>butter hunting tolls
K E K
Yeah I hate when the gubbermint puts a per pound tax on the butter you manage to bag on your own property.
I was out one day, last year, on the forest just out the back, and I swear to the Lord, there was this fat loaf of butter, must've been sixteen pounds, it was lumbering around so heavy just shy of a hundred yards out.
Now that much butter, and they'll slip n slide everywhere they go, so it's hard to line up a shot. First shot from my 22single went wide, so I switched to the 357 mag I use for home defense. Now lining up a shot from a 6" barrel at that distance when your prey is moving ain't easy, so I just figured I caught a lucky break when it slipped in its own grease and tripped.
Bagged fifteen solid pounds of butter that day (exit wounds account for the missing pound). Fed my kids for a week off that!
Next minute, whaddaya fucking know, some black suit ATF types show up to my door and demand me butter hunting toll! Seeing as how I didn't want my dog shot or my babys crib flashbanged, I payed the toll. Six bucks a pound that cost me!

if anything, human beings are the only animals capable of morality.

>implying ants don't also practice war slavery
Sentience allows us to do horrible things, but it gives us morals, too
Use your unique abilities as a human being to do good or bad, or both

Gets worse
Humans are the only animals that actively cares about their impact on the planet.
All other animals would destroy the planet in a heartbeat if they weren't driven down by the oppressive environment in which they evolved. Just look at any invasive species.
Humans may be capable of great destruction, but we're the only ones capable of feeling bad about it.

You know, I fucking hate human-guilt.
Anything else would do what we do if it could.

Why is destructive behavior vile to you? It's a part of the necessary cycle of existence. You can't have creation with destruction.

>Humans have proven to be merciless bringers of death and carnage upon much of the world
That's not true though.
Humans are quite social creatures and merciful too. They can be merciless, but only within certain contexts.
In general, this sounds like a load of hippie bullshit to me. Humans are not special. All behaviour we exhibit is something that has developed in just the same way as animals have developed theirs. Pretty much any species out there can be destructive. Nature does not "balance" itself so that everything is always nice and in harmony. Countless species have died out throughout history, simply because another species competed with them for their niche and turned out better adapted.

Define "willingly" Do you mean when humans cut down rainforests because they want to use its wood in various products? Or Like if they cut it down just for the fun of it? If the former, you can't really say it's unique. We humans need something, and if there's nothing to stop us we will go get it, like everyone else does.
