Are there any history or humanities teachers on /his/? If so, do you ever feel like being 4chan could be some kind of danger to your career or otherwise respectable image?
>>
Yes.

History teachers have been on both here and /lit/ and said that any discovered history of 4chan use usually results in either a warning or being sacked on the spot.
>>
>>985577

Wouldn't that just apply to using at school?
>>
>implying people irl care about some faggy website
4chan isn't muh sekrit club anymore
>>
>>985605

they would care if teachers are visiting a site that is associated with pedophiles and holocaust deniers
>>
>>985577
>>985622
I would be surprised if teachers over the age of 30 even know what 4chan is.
Regardless, what you do in your free time is your free time. To say that browsing a legal website is grounds for firing is ridiculous and I doubt it would ever happen, provided it didn't impact school at all.
>>
oh the humanity, if your students found out you were a worthless mouthpiece for a giant propaganda racket, your life would be over!
>>
>>985622
This is where we can dredge up the christfag to show this truly is a christian website with christian values.
>>
>>985632

I don't know, teachers seem to get fired pretty often for things they do outside of school, especially if the school cares a lot about its image as an institute for higher learning, manners, etc.

Sure, on the public school level, maybe there's less concern, unless the teacher has a stash of loli porn which might be a cause for concern

Yeah, for social media bullshit. We /anon/

Just don't reveal your power level and you're fine. I assume that the dude below OP is talking about the stigma the website has, and its touchy relationship with CP back when it was used as chemo on /b/. Most schools don't want to deal with the potential scandals and the subsequent smear on their reputation.

it's amazing 4chan is rarely discussed when stuff like deviantart, the rest of your big platforms and blogs get a way more papers and attention

Let me guess, you're a bisexual manlet from Thailand who spends most of his time smoking weed and lifting with his group of loser bros.

Other than the bisexual part, sounds like he's living the dream

history teacher here, i guess it would be an issue if you teach highschool or younger. buuut i don't think it matters if i'm on a blueboard as long as i'm not doing anything illegal since i work with mostly adults. plus, my uni has funded research and published work which deals with some 4chan related people/things.

I actually have my doubts about the holocaust narrative, but even I know that if I become a teacher, I should never reveal that to anyone under any circumstances outside of 4chan if I want to have a job and I should pretend to not be associated with any site or group in which such people are a part of the membership or userbase

Unless you get a job teaching in private muslim schools then you might away with questioning such things in front of your students

really? that sounds interesting. what kind of work?
>>

probably pointing out how racist & misogynistic the site is
>>
>>990772
What a waste.

The social dynamics here are fucking fascinating. Just imagine how the term "didn't do nothin" evolved into "dindu nuffin" and the amount of complexity within the context of the site that this phrase holds. Note the variety in which it is used and the speed at which newcomers come to pick it up and use it.

Or WE WUZ KANGS N SHIET. Now we have "WE" A single word that can be posted to evoke the whole idea of pan-african revisionism. But not that, but in how it's been appropriated as a pejorative for any sort of nationalistic revisionism. The term revisionism has actually been replaced in some cases with "Wuzism".

4chan as a case study, is a plethora of crazy bullshit from the evolution of a counterculture and its microcosms(each board) given the benefit of having a predescribed idea as to roughly what each aspect is about-to the evolution of slang without the context of personal identity or body language.

And the memes Jack. The memes.
>>

>plethora of crazy bullshit from the evolution of a counterculture and its microcosms
come on anon, i get you but this can be said about anything really.
>>
>>990803
Anything that happens on 4chan nowadays is a regularity of obscenity. It gives the impression of something new, but ultimately a reproduction of false image of trespassing the customs and laws. It's edginess without being edgy. Contrarian without contrarian. Movement without movement.

Even anonymity is not a true anonymity anymore, as I realized that many people here actually gather their groups with twitter, reddit, or something like that, to post on 4chan. No wonder people could post ">>>/reddit", they browse reddit themselves. What a surprise, I was dumb as fuck for believing 'le ephemerality meme'. Turns out people spouting the same shit over and over again.

If there's any such thing to be learned from the present 4chan, is that it confirms the impotence of cynical position, the 'cynical reason', within the context of today's digital era. Oh, and how wrong and stupid Deleuze and his followers are. Turns out plural spontaneous microcosmic [e]vents don't do jack shit.
>>
>>989174
We need a pic of that for the russians as well
>>
>>986906
Of course not, it's some elaborate fantasy by a basement dweller.
>>
>>985632
> I would be surprised if teachers over the age of 30 even know what 4chan is.

4chan has been mainstream since the IRL scientology raids, that was back in 2008. It has had so much media attention since then. I'd be surprised if people who regularly use the internet didn't know of it.
