Has there ever been a society that has prospered without abusing the weak of their own nation?

>has prospered without abusing the weak of their own nation
These are incredibly vague words. What counts as abuse? As weak?
>>980114
Abuse as in taking advantage of them economically and giving them no rights or voice in a legal setting.
>>980105
You mean like Indians?
>>980126
>Abuse as in taking advantage of them economically
What the fuck does this mean? Is giving low value work a low wage "taking advantage?" If so than yes, every system ever for all time will take advantage of people. The potatoe farmers will not make as much as the skilled aritisians and the mcdonalds employees will not make as much as the engineers.
>giving them no rights
The concept of "rights" is a modern idea. You can't apply it to the past. What we call "rights" are just laws that held in high regard.
Trying to apply modern ideas about how morality and government to the past is fucking retarded. Societies are always the result of economic and social realities, not lofty ideals.

Well, take into consideration how the most prominent economies in today's world are those with slave labor, whereas in countries where opportunity is more equal, the GDP isn't as high.
