No problem m8. I have it because I want to learn history as a hobby/interest (so I can join in on the big boy banter on /his/) But skimming through it, it seems kind of lean, and you might know a lot of this stuff from just browsing on here. So I'd recommend reading another book after this.

Read a few books on historic materialism. It's easy to understand the progression of history, then it all sort of falls into place. Hegel and Marx are both good starts, Zizek's Absolute Recoil is good if you want to get deep into it and have something more contemporary.
