19 century. Britfags, russian monarchists, Napoleon fans, almost every western country romanticizes it's 19 century.

Yes, since many countries have lost their influence because of colony loss and war spending.

It heavily affected the peace talks, and it was an incredibly decisive battle.
Had the British taken New Orleans even if it had occured after the ceasefire was signed, it still would have been a huge bargaining chip for the English to use against the fledgling US, and would have undoubtedly solidified the idea the US lost the War of 1812 instead of what we ended up with, a stalemate where absolutely nothing was accomplished by anyone except the Canadians who successfully defended their homes.

>Britfags
Britain was at the height of its power in the 19th century so not really surprising

The true challenge is finding something more demonized, falsified, and/or revisioned.

Really? Everyone who knows the first Crusade knows that they slaughtered every living person in Jeruselem... Muslim, Jew, and even residing Christians in a blood frenzy.

They even talked in their historical accounts of having mounds of bodies as tall as houses.

Ding ding.
You know it's been romanticised to hell and back when they act like feudal tinpots killing each other and showing off their "wealth" is treated like the birth of civilisation.

Germany in general is a close second.

>>925817
War, whether fought for greed or faith is fundamentally evil. The Crusaders were one of the biggest errors in the history of Christianity.
