It's far more complex than that man, by the time one country is mobilising you need to do the same or risk getting owned in weeks(muh timetables).
The Schlieffen plan wasn't guaranteed to bring Britain into the war because Britain didn't have any kind of concrete alliance with either Russia or France, and their guarantee of Belgium's independence was hardly a real threat.
If you go back further, Edward Grey(the foreign secretary for Britain) does a lot to ruin diplomatic relations because he tries to make Britain fill in for Russia as France's ally(in all but name) after Russia's defeat against Japan, it's this kind of cooperation with France that vexes the Germans and gives France a bit more confidence.
By 1911/1912, Britain is actually cooperating a lot more with Germany because they both want peace and stability(especially in the Balkans), but by this point Russia has recovered.
Honestly, it's my opinion that had the july crisis not happened, you might not have seen a first world war.
