When /pol/ says "Sikhs are bro-tier", implying they "remove kebab"... can someone tell me what the actual history is behind Sikh and Muslim relations?
Thanks
bump. come on guys , one of you must know
Fuck off to /pol/
Sikhism develop as a synthesis of Hinduism and Islam during the Islamic conquests of India as essentially an islamists resistance organization. To this day, one of their compulsory requirements is keeping a knife for public security (Muslims again) and they are the de facto soldier class

It's a bowdlerization, and the aspects of Sikh discipline and behavior that encourages them 'bro-tier' necessitates their kindness towards Muslims as much as anyone else. It began as a forced meme by Canadian Sikhs, ironically the least bro-tier Sikhs you'd probably encounter, trying to ingratiate themselves with /int/ and their love of Serb memes.
The actual history behind Sikh and Muslim relations tends to boil down to this: Resistance to authority, cooperation with peers, tolerance for subjects.

That guy is such a retard. If anything he's a great example that good soldier =/= good politician
They have honor killings. Thats pretty much all you need to know about them.

Got real heated in the 18th century, Sikh's aren't Dhimmi and carved out an existence for themselves when Muslims had regional hegemony, it's pretty impressive. Probably why the UK thought they were a martial race and recruited them disproportionately into the colonial regiments,
"They are not as good as Anglo-Saxon's but infinitely preferable to full blown mohammedan pakis" - Official British attitude towards Sikh's since the early 1800s.
People in the UK still think like that, myself included.

Sikhs and Muslims were both the largest group of recruits for the British Indian Army, both raised from the so-called martial races of which the majority were Muslims or regularly included Muslims from their recruitment.
Sikhs are bro tier

Side note, using terms like "bro-tier" to describe things as complex and nuanced as religion is asinine.

Just because ONE family head decided to do an honour killing doesn't mean its allowed in their religion or culture, just like just because the UK has invaded the most countries doesn't mean that Christians or Christianity are warlike.
That's just shitty people doing shitty things.
