A lot of you her talk a good game, but do you have anything substantial to back it up?

I understand some might want to protect their anonymity so none of these questions are compulsory...

>What grade you obtained at said institution
>What levels are you planning on attaining?
>Anything published?

Somehow, I've gotten into Durham so I'll see where that takes me.

Nope

I'm a fairly big hitter on a couple of miniscule Horse Racing forums. Not on fb or anything like that.
>If none of the above, what grants you the right to post on /his/?
I very rarely post given my lack of credentials.

I was also a wiki editor of War Thunder for a year, so I think it's fair to say that I know a bit of military history (not claiming to be an expert, but enough to get legitimately angry at wehraboo shitposting).

I don't know of anybody who gets published before obtaining a graduate degree. Really those questions are basically getting you the same information of "Are you relevant in your own field?"

One exception is people who get jobs writing for magazines. Those guys can be really good and not have graduate degrees.

I don't post, I lurk and read. I like to learn. I'm not an academic by any means, so I can't speak with authority on the subject.

I'd like to both learn more and add stuff to my resume, would Arch Linux be a worthwhile project to contribute to? I'm only one year into my first job, am I qualified enough? Sorry, I know this is off topic.
>>
>>755707
>I'd like to learn more and add stuff to my resume
I think that's an admirable attitude, but you shouldn't pick up projects for your resume. It's good to think before jumping into the waters of thread scheduling, etc, but I would push you to pick up projects you need personally. The reason why I smush bugs in hipster *nix distributions is because I smush bugs in the scipy libraries I use.
If you want to dev for archlinux, fine, but chances are it won't help you impress HR or hack your way into your next job.

You're looking at it.

Insofar as there is overlap between economic forces, psychological forces, and precedent I believe my analysis has at least de minimus value. Though I do not know everything, and I am a firm believer in the permanence of that state of affairs. As such I value all posters and shitposters alike as sources of information and repudiate the requirement of a 'right to speak'.

All should be welcome to contribute, it helps to improve our collective knowledge to discuss even wrongheaded information.

If you can prove what you say, these really don't matter. Noam Chomsky didn't have a degree in a few subjects he taught in the past, but that didn't stop him from talking about them. I his words, "The only thing [his peers] cared about was if he was right."

The /pol/tards on the other hand all have honorary degrees conferred upon them by that hand of David Duke himself, which is why they think they are right (no Jewish influence you see).

This suggests, but does not demonstrate, that Chomsky was right. His "at war with asia" is a piece of shit.

Archaeology, especially historical archaeology. I'd rather not go into more detail to avoid being identifiable. Also religious studies as a fairly intensive minor from undergrad, if that counts.

>>Where you gained your highest qualification
Currently in a graduate program at a school in the American Southwest.

>>What grade you obtained at said institution
I think this might mean something else in Europe, but I currently have a 4.0, and graduated with something similar in undergrad.

>>What levels are you planning on attaining?
Masters at this point, currently debating on extending the program to Phd.

>>Anything published?
Not yet, but currently writing something that will get published a conference, and may have a few following that if my professors get their way. I also have a religion paper from undergrad in reserve, if I stumble across a journal that fits.
