What does /his/ think of the creation of a new 4chan, with an emphasis on SFW educational boards and an enforced disgust for shitposting? No /pol/, no reddit.
>>
No. I like board cultures and am okay with shitposting, as are you apparently.
>>
>>753451
Shitposting is funny, just don't let it get in the way of interesting discussions
>>
This board just came into existence, why would we ever want a schism?
>>
Well, every 4chan splinter that focused on LESS moderation has inevitably gone to shit, so maybe one with even more moderation will be a wild success.

Easier said than done.

shit posting is the price of anonymity. use the filter function and stop complaining
>>
It's good to have discussion for its own sake. It benefits us all. Even /b/ has its uses for it catharsis.
>>
>>753576
Or just enforced semi-anonymity so you can see who is shitposting and bumping their own threads.
>>
What are the odds on OP being Jewish?
>>
>>753451
Can we ban meta threads too?

>>>/qa/
>>
>>753451
There's zero way you can create that and still have open discussions anonymously. As soon as you start censoring shitposts, you open the door for censoring things you don't like that you might consider shitposts, and eventually lead to a hugbox where there can be no actual discussion.

4chan is as good as it can get currently. When you bring up an interesting topic, you get a horde of conflicting thoughts and ideas with no state approved answer for you. It's like asking an American and a Russian what they thought of the fall of the Soviet Union -- both see the same event from two different sides and have insight into it that the other does not.
>>
>>753576
>use the filter function and stop complaining
>all of /int/ bar two or three threads filtered

woops guess I won't have international related discussions today.
>>
>>753451
This sort of heavy handed moderation is what completely ruined /tg/. Kindly go fuck yourself.
>>
OP is a jew
>>
>>753612
>>753627
It's not censoring or even heavy-handed moderation.

Just remove /b/ and /pol/ from 4chan and see how the posting changes. Take away the edgelord mentality.

>>753606
/pol/ is so naive. Why do you think moot left 4chan? You're all morons.
>>
>>753639
>Why do you think moot left 4chan?

Because he didn't want to end up in court when one of us commits a crime so heinous the admin has to answer for it

Not /pol/ m8. Kekking at Jews isn't just a /pol/ thing

> No /pol/
> no reddit.
I wonder who would be behind this post
>>
>>753639
First off, you've probably not been around to remember when /pol/ was deleted the first time. /pol/ didn't just disappear like how you said, it spread to every other board on the site and took roots there. By the time /pol/ was recreated, the regular users were galvanized as fuck against a moderation that hated them AND never left the other boards they began to frequent. The whole idea of a containment board such as /mlp/ is seen in that concept.

Second, there's absolutely no reason we need to remove any board from 4chan. Despite your dislike of /pol/, they still provide a foil in discussions in their own way. Whereas 4chan has always typically been very liberal throughout the years, /pol/ has provided the much needed challenging of typical beliefs rather than users simply never encountering any resistance to their thought processes.

Also, m00t left 4chan most likely because he got sick of being shackled to the same thing for years and years. A rebelling, unhappy userbase was only part of the reason, as even though his home of /jp/ had derided him at one point, he was still stuck espousing anonymous ideals in a world that would see that crushed and eliminated.
>>
>>753650
Because 4chan has probably the best places to discuss humanities topics on the internet but it's weighed down by an adolescent mentality that it's OK to waste your time on the internet like an idiot.

>>753647
And he was replaced with someone who does? lel
>>
>>753554
It's literally the 30th most popular site on the internet or something
>>
>>753684
I was here since before /new/.

I just think there'd be more quality posting if people didn't enter 4chan through something like /b/.

If you came here without the knowledge that it's kind of a fucked up site for losers, you'd have a different mentality when posting.

Find me another place where you can talk about history, philosophy and literature and not wait 2 months for a reply. And a place where you can read posts without some douchey user signature taking up 80% of the page.
>>
>>753639

Why do you take everything so seriously?

I know this might surprise you but you are genuinely the cancer that lowered this site's quality

Moot left because he was tired of managing the site, not because it became too much to handle. Being edgy and retarded is what put this site on the map. If Moot hated edginess he'd have never have created 4chan to begin with.

Reminder newfriend that this site had loli and guro boards when it was first launched. That's kiddie cartoon porn and gore based cartoon porn.

Like, reddit?

He literally left because they were threatening to sue his ass mile-high for the Fappening, like they tried to do to Google. Because Google and 4chan were technically profiting from the photos getting leaked.

Do you not read? You didn't follow that?

You hear moot's voice squirm on his 7 hour goodbye when he was like "t-the F-Fappening d-didn't help my stress levels" but then he pretends like "I just grew out of it, cya later space cowboy ; )"

He didn't sell till later. He just left.
>>
Sounds like an interesting idea that would become completely authoritarian and then gone.

If you want a slower, more interesting, and less "troubled" chan, go to the history board on infinity. I do it for free over there and it's very clean and free of retardation. Good discussion too, but it's slow. Whether this is good or bad you'll have to decide. I, personally, think it's good.
