Yamato Dynasty of Japan. Longest continuous dynasty in world history.
Did so by spending the latter half of their reign being keked by the military and only saved by their religious significance.
>>70852
The Capetian dynasty, with all its minor branches (Bourbon in particular).
If you don't immediatly think "the Capets" you failed.
They even have the highest score in Crusader Kings :^)
Vasa dynasty was pretty cool, controlled both the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Swedish empire for a time.
And then there is the Habsburgers.

There's really no question that it was the House of France (aka the Capetians).
They ruled France without interruption in patrilineal succession for 800 years, and for a total of about 900. Their cadet branches have ruled half the countries in Europe, from Spain, Portugal, and Italy, to Poland, Hungary, and Constantinople. And they've counted the kings of the remaining half among their vassals, from England to Jerusalem. Even today, they still reign over Spain.
Pic related.
Habsburgs. Capets are a distant second.
>>70852
First we need to decide what is meant by the word best. Is it just the longest reigning? The one which generated the most wealth? Etc.

At least we knew when a king was fucking up, and we knew where the power actually rested. These days, you can't even tell who's twisting the president's arm at the moment.

The Ottonians.

But wait, Austrian or Spanish?
The House of Solomon is pretty interesting, considering how they claim descent directly from a Biblical King
>>70852
Habsburg and Capetian both had quite a long party and held pretty important countries.
the house of Solomon: the heirs of David and rightful king of Gondar

Gondar sounding like Gondor will never stop being funny to me
"It is Aragon's Destiny to become King of Gonder. Now that we have finally figured out where it is we should do something about this. Make Gonder Aragon's as we cannot escape our destiny."

/pol/ is more like fascist/national socialist if anything.
Anyone who actually knows history and doesn't get all the information from macros about Jews has to understand monarchy is the best governing model ever invented.

KEK.
Hah, thanks for that.

it's the longest, it's still here and he's a fucking emprah!

The Capets haven't been around for centuries.
>inb4 Bourbons are Capets
The best are without a doubt the Capets, the Habsburgs could rival them, but the dead can't speak.
My personal favorites are pic related. They were only a footnote in history, but IMO all their rulers had interesting personalities and admirable ambitions. They catastrophic lack of luck gives a more sympathetic light.

Could you elaborate on that?
