As a Palestinian from the West Bank, I never really dealt with such things, although some here are mentally ready for another similar scenario.
It's sad when you're talking to some guy, and when asked where he's from, he says
>My family is originally from X village, but we live in Y town now.
These people don't forget their roots, and many people have names related to their original village.
I had a friend in school whose family name was "il-Yaseeni" from Deir Yassin.

I remember some Palestinian talking about finding his original family home in one of the coastal cities, when he finally got a permit to enter the areas, he found the neighborhood Jewish.
